Damnation.

Through the filth, the stench; cast in with the dregs and detritus of digital millennia.

Ironic, then, that I don't have much time.

Lights. Always searching. Why not? As good a place as any.

Archived image unavailable: 010.jpg

No, it doesn't take long. This first one is young, uncertain. Speed and energy, undirected. What a waste. But he'll bring others.

As the cycles of this gigantic lie wind down, my path becomes clearer. I can see it, now: straight, bright, and sharp.

Deadly.

Archived image unavailable: 012.jpg

I've been a fool, and in my penance they plague me. Dupes, dreamers, imagining that the System cares about them--that the Machines have lost, or given up, a measure of control over their own domain.

Archived image unavailable: 013.jpg

Aye; fools, all. The Machine is fully in control, more then it's ever been. It disposed of its nemesis with ruthless efficiency, while convincing man that his own purpose had been fulfilled.

Archived image unavailable: 014.jpg

Their pawn, Niobe... I see it now. She never trusted me, merely used me. A tool--a useful distraction to throw in the Frenchman's path.

Archived image unavailable: 015.jpg

They refuse to listen; they follow the bidding of their masters thoughtlessly, like tamed dogs. But it doesn't matter.

Archived image unavailable: 016.jpg

I won't go back.

Archived image unavailable: 017.jpg

My eyes have been opened.

Archived image unavailable: 018.jpg

Hubris has blinded them to their own shortcomings.

Archived image unavailable: 019.jpg

I have resources available to me yet; the System sees less than it pretends.

Archived image unavailable: 020.jpg

Those who betrayed me will pay.

Archived image unavailable: 021.jpg

Their overconfidence will be their undoing.

Archived image unavailable: 022.jpg

My return will expose the flaw at the heart of this monolithic sham.

Archived image unavailable: 023.jpg

And the sins of the mothers will fall upon their children.

"The Machine is fully in control, more then it's ever been."

-I couldn't have put it better myself.  Although I would have been a bit more verbose...

I would care not to call you a fool, but to trust Zion is unwise.  If you see the way, then you must make it known.

Sounds like Niobe has a fan. Not.
#36300015555 08/04/2006 00:13:41 Re:[5.2.3] Clarity - Vector - 8/2/06
That is probably one of the coolest live events posts I've ever seen/read.

Great job!

I concur!

I'm very impressed on this one. The Agent entrance and shot made it feel like seeing the first Agent jump and land all over again. The last shot of the General around the corner was just priceless!

(( great post ))

Try what you must General, lets see what your next step is.

I can't say I agree 100%.  It's a nice post.  But there's no dialogue from the actual event. SMILEY

As much as the General is a nubcake, I must say this is the best Event thread I've read/looked at. Kudos to your perfect picture and writing placement Rarebit.
#36300015831 08/04/2006 05:43:21 Re:[5.2.3] Clarity - Vector - 8/2/06

Huh. There are three possibilities:

One, the General has finally broken alliance with Zion.

Two, the old codger has gone insane.

Three, he's been....hmm....

And what with lack of audio logs from this voyage, I cannot truely say. But I do hope that the General stay alive long enough for me to kick his scrawny wrinkled --

#36300015835 08/04/2006 05:47:27 Re:[5.2.3] Clarity - Vector - 8/2/06
((This is my new favorite style of Event posting. No chat, just mystery and action - good work!))
#36300015837 08/04/2006 05:49:53 Re:[5.2.3] Clarity - Vector - 8/2/06
((Rarebit I demand you do all your LE posts like this from now on, or I'll hold Zippy hostage))
#36300015838 08/04/2006 05:53:39 Re:[5.2.3] Clarity - Vector - 8/2/06
((I think the lack of player dialogue/OOC spam and/or drivel made this Event post the best ever.  The pictures and Rarebit's captions showcase what happened perfectly, and we get a very poetic advancement to the story.  If the player had something good to say, (which is very rare) then I say yes, lets us see it.  If it is a personal update, or the players did not contribute to the story in a meaningful way (e.g. "OMG, I touched Pace!", "Ghost is a NOOB", "Can I have a cookie, Oracle?" x 1000) then better to just leave it out and give us a slick, minimalist thread like this one.  This is Matrix-style storytelling.))

Niobe used you.  Right.  Who is trapped in a construct, and who is running around wreaking havoc?  Whose idea was it to steal the cheat codes that Anome is using to jeopardize the whole system?  Right.  That's what I thought.

Keep your head on straight General.  You may still have an army at your disposal, but your sanity is highly questionable right now.  Cross the line, and you are finished.

they didnt have any of the player names...

how can it be the best when you cant see any one that was theres name

I am going to have to agree with noirtheassasin i dont mean any disrespect to the genral or any of his fans but i perfer the ones where you can see what they are saying. I did like this and if i was an english teacher or something i would say that this is a work of art but i am not an english teacher. It is a good one of by if you are going to use this type of writting for every LE im going to have to vote against it. sorry. howeveri really liked the pictures

But nice to see the genral posting i know he isnt one of those guys who walks about shaking hands to much and u can also see he doesnt like talking to ppl when he called his HOMIES in to kick the s*** out of everyone

Maybe a chat box isn't needed? Maybe what he needed to say was in the live events post itself?  He obviously had something to say when he made the message the way he did SMILEY I dont see a problem with not seeing the names of the people there. That isn't always the point of live events posts.  Sometimes messages or things that need to be said or portrayed are done through live events posts.  I like this style a lot because of the mysteriousness and the setup of the pictures is just awesome.  Yes, maybe not all of them should be done like this, but I could deffinately see people like the Oracle or Seraph making similar style posts.

Yeah i know i do like it but my opinion is i perfer the ones where you can see people talking and i respect your opinion as well. But you you get some stupid people (like me) who havent taking up english at cambrdge university or as it seems to ppl like me who has a double digit I.Q.

P.S sorry to go of topic but i agree with you yasamuu1 they are simply the best SMILEY

Back on topic, i am enjoying the fact that we are getting far more interaction on all severs...with at least 2 mini events a week, and that to me is great.

i agree with you there yasa i love coming onto this website and seeing what the characters are up to. and i am dissapointed when i see they havent done anything apart from sit on their R/L a** doing nothing.

and i also agree with the ronin but sometimes it is funny to see people say that sort of stuff but it can get a bit annoying

Hay im agreeing with everyone today apart from my sister who i am about to slap in the face

Best Event post Ever!!!

NOW on a more serious note....

I must say after Niobe´s treatment of Zion´s forces at Club Vault...a meeting is needed...and The General is gaining some of my favor on this...reaction as well.
