Parents In The Matrix...

well with my chars family, there parents where programs, but the three brothers are genetically related.

one of my theories of parents in the matrix is that because of the whole "your mind makes it real" the male, during sexual intercourse "chokes the chicken" without physical contact then the *CENSORED* is collected by the pod moniter and transfered into the female where pregnancy happens then whilst the machines fit the baby with the wires and hardware to be in the matrix it is temporarily replaced with a program until it is inserted.

I always thought the Machines collected gametes from the humans in the pods then created the embryos via something akin to IVF before implanting the embryos on the fetal stalks out in the fields. Empregnating female batteries then removing the embryos/fetuses would be too time-consuming and difficult, plus it might risk giving the females the sense that they'd just miscarried, which could disrupt their carrier signal.

Morpheus said humans are no longer born but grown so its pointless for the female to be impregnated. I could see though that the reproductive cells being collected from the two parents and a "test tube baby" thing happens in those feilds. where the children are grown.

As for the mother its most likely an RSI altering program at work tricking the female body that it is indeed with child.
