I don't know about other Red Frags, but I tried to obtain Consumable Subroutines tonight at Lamar and was unsuccessful for about a good half hour. I should have gotten at least 1 frag for 30 minutes of work, if not more. Is the Consumable DR drop rate borked, or has the Red Frag % been lowered a considerable amount?
Remag that same question crossed my mind, but it was immediately after the increased frag drop a few months back. In my subsequent farming it appears that drop rates have gone back to what they once were. It would appear you just had a bad night, as the drops are random. But it is possible there may be a problem specific to the Consumable Sub, I haven't needed to farm any since the rate increase.
Heh. I spent 2 hours trying to get 1 operative interface and never got a single drop. Then I went and tried my luck with Clothing Subs. They were dropping like mad. Had 10 in like 30 minutes.

Yeah I think you just had a bad streak. I farm those all the time.. and it seems to be was it always was. It's pretty random for me. I'll go awhile without getting any, then I'll get 3 in 6 kills. Then 1 in every 10.. randomness.
But recently, the con subs seem to be normal. For me. I'll sell you some, maybe. :smileytongue:
I find that they can drop at ridiculous variances of frequency.
4 in 5 kills, then nothing for 30 kills, then 2 in 5, etc etc. I guess it is meant to be that way. But it's so demoralising when nothing drops for a long long time.
Sometimes your lucky and sometimes very unlucky its veeeery random but after much time spending in farming i found out that switching the area makes a big difference and for some red frags there are areas where they always drop good !!!!!!!

There's something really weird with this. I used to be able to farm Red-frags easily but over the last month, I have literally picked up NO FRAGS ! I've spent at least 4, half hour sessions, farming various frags and picked up none. Thats 2 hrs of killing mobs and getting nothing. I tried moving around killing different groups at different HL's in the area.. but nothing.
Farming is the most boring thing in the game, please dont make it take any longer than it should do..
they are usually the best drops where the NPC's are at their highest lvl, I think LOL but I use howitzer so I kill like 4 NPC's by the time an MA has killed 1 so
Just to add to this discussion. I was farming clothing subs the other day and 3 dropped within about 15 minutes. I spent another 15 mins there with no drops at all. I stayed in the same area killing the same mobs over and over again.
yea the patterns seem very random, its could be down to luck though.. some times i can get an od 15-20 drops in an hour other days i can farm for 2 hours and get nothing..
