Alright, I'm going to be starting a new character once CR 2 comes out (and a Merovingian at that:smileysurprised:), and am going to need some help. Specifically, I need to know if Attributes are still sort of negligible when determining numbers or if they are more important now, and if so, how? On my character right now I put everything equally into Perception and Focus; is this still a good idea in CR 2? Thanks for the advice.
That's exactly what you DON'T want to do in 2.0, if you want a well-rounded character. In the current combat system, it's all about clothes. In 2.0, it's all about abilities. What you wear isn't so important (though I recommend the armored/shielded versions of your favorite outfit). However, all the new stats are valuable. There will be a way for you to get as many stat reorganization hacks as you want, so you won't be stuck in one build forever. But it's time consuming, and not entirely easy.
My stats are set fairly evenly at the moment, and I intend to keep them that way for a while to come.
I see. So basically, Attributes are actually meaningful in CR 2. Would it be in my best intrests to keep everything relatively equal, or are there still throwaway Attributes (like Vitality in CR 1)?
No, every stat affects different Damages/Resistances/Defenses, there's really no throw-away stat, but you'll want to pick the one or two you see least useful for your character and sort of run from there.
For me, as both a Buffer and a Healer, every stat is near equally important, but because I like being efficient, I added a bit more into Reason then the other stats (21 Reason/17 Others).
