That's what you get for mixing your trees, unfortunately. 
I also use a hybrid Kung Fu/Karate build, and between monitoring which base tactic I'm using and monitoring which dodge ability I have selected, I'm glad that I don't manually have to change my style.
As I posted in another thread, your tree buff is no longer tied to your style, so activating your Karate GM buff will benefit you even if you choose to use a Kung Fu attack. The only things that won't help are the abilities that specifically increase style accuracy or damage.
