I've had something like this happen to me, although I don't think its the same thing.

A while ago I used Maki-Oteshi (Aikido master move) on an enemy NPC during a mission. The animation played, my IS is
drained for the move... yet, its as if it never happened. No recognition of it happening appears in the system message box, and no
damage occurs to the enemy :smileyindifferent:

Happened to me twice so far.

Yea, the IS is drained no matter if you hit or fail -- that always so and hasn't changed.

However, I don't know if it's a bug or supposed to be this way, but I like it. I mean it's good to see the "clean versions" of moves like Dim Mak Strike (Kung Fu Master) which would cause an annoying combat effect inevitably. If the ability fails and you still see the animation, you can watch it without the effect, which I'd evaluate as extremely positive SMILEY

Yea, you're right. I only refered to the aesthetical aspect. If Dim Mak (f.e.) hits when it does hit, you'll see the inevitable powerless effect inevitably. If it hits when it doesn't hit, then you see the clean animation. If something like that happens to me, I know exactly that I missed because my opponent hasn't taken any damage and I've seen the red flash on ability icon. But it's nice to see it without "powerless".

That doesn't mean that I want the bug to stay, of course. If it's a bug, it's to be removed. Plain and simple SMILEY
