Disarming during combat isn't possible any longer. I don't really have a problem with that, but I miss the cool disarming animations. Are they now completely and ultimately removed from the game to never be seen again or are they actually still there and I haven't encountered them yet? Or are they just planned for future updates?

They still happen from time to time. They simply don't cause the disarmed state.
Wall kicks, on the other hand, seem to have vanished completely. Either that, or they're bugged.
