Taranima's intel reports on the Sleepwalker incident - Syntax - 4/2/06

[Friends, now that the incident involving the traitorous Sleepwalkers is all over and done with, I thought that some of you might find it enlightening to see these intel reports provided to me by one of our top operatives, Taranima, in the weeks leading up to their final attack. It is thanks to hard-working Cypherites such as her that our simulation was saved from the Sleepwalkers' catastrophically misguided assault, and the dream of a peaceful return to the System preserved.

Good evening, Cryptos.

This is Taranima, Communications Expert on the Hypnos II. There have been some quite troublesome rumors among our Operatives lately - I was ordered to pass this information to you directly. It appears that numerous Cypherites have been getting restless and are repeatedly disobeying orders. They are beginning to lose their respect for you as a leader.
No offense, but you do seem to have been pretty absent lately.

Well, anyway, I'd stay low and keep my eyes open if I were you. Be careful.

Remember that rumor I told you about last week? Well, I looked into it a bit further, and it's even worse than I had expected. Turns out a large number of Cypherites have decided that you haven't quite met their expectations, and are beginning to take matters into their own hands. This is not good. You and Veil will have to step out of the shadow and stop these people, before it gets ugly.

I heard about your little encounter with the renegades. It seems we're getting a little short on Operatives, but heck, we'll be better off without them! Wouldn't surprise me if they'd come crawling back after a few days, anyway.
I'm going to keep it cool for a while, see what happens.


P.S. The shipment has been delayed due to a few..issues with one of our Operatives. Expecting to arrive in a few days.

Hey Cryptos,

I jacked in to the Matrix for the first time in quite a while. It will take some getting used to, especially since my old Martial Arts kinetics have been significantly upgraded. Matarax has become my mentor--he guides me along the path. He really is something special... But we have no time to waste! I'm going to find out what these renegades are trying to accomplish.

In fact, I have recieved several reports about these people already. Apparently they call themselves "Sleepwalkers" and have attacked certain Operatives in the City. I'll have to investigate this further. There is also something particularly strange that has been bothering me. The sky has suddenly turned plain...blue! And not just a Sati-work. This is different. Like a permanent blue tint to the sky.. Could it be connected with these Sleepwalkers?

Subject: A Concert Out of the Blue

It gets weirder. I have located 8 different Concert sites in MegaCity, each one set up in a park or open area in the following neighborhoods: Bathary Row, Rogers Way, Eshean Projects, Tabor Park, Kaede, Murasaki, Center Park, and Union Hill. When did these sites show up, and what are they for? According to the huge banners on-site, the concert is called "A Piece of Blue Sky - A Celebration of Dreams Fulfilled" and runs through March 31 - April 2.

These concerts are sponsored by a bluepill by the name Decius Wadsworth. The same Decius Wadsworth who co-founded MetaCortex, that is. Why he works with the Sleepwalkers is unknown. Guess we'll have to find out.

This is all so familiar, yet it doesn't seem like anything one of ours would do. I bet these Sleepwalkers are responsible somehow. They're out of control - If they do have certain control of the simulation, things might get real ugly. One thing I have noticed about each of these sites is that there are these extremely bright spotlights, powered by an event corporation by the name "Thanatos". Those things must require a massive ammount of electricity!

It's starting to get too hot around here. Matarax has called me to a meeting--I suppose I'll see you there aswell. The Operatives need your guidance, your orders.

You sure are a man of words when it comes down to the real deal. I like that. It was good to see that we do have a group of loyal Cypherites by our side, still.

Just as ordered, I started patrolling the different concert sites. Took quite a while before I recieved a report of unusual activity going on in Eshean Park. I went to check it out.

When I got there, masses of Sleepwalker Phantoms were fighting Redpills. Quite a rumble, can tell you that! Attatched a few pictures, of course..

I have a small update regarding those spotlights on the concert sites. An informant has told me that the spotlights have caused a power fluctuation in the simulation's energy network, and are occasionally leaking code.. There is a security hole in the simulation that has been exploited to tamper with the System. Thus the blue sky. In addition, I have recieved an increasing ammount of reports about Security Guards stopping by each concert site. Will check up on that and come back to you as soon as possible.

Oh, one more thing. While being at one of the concert sites, a strange voice was coming from the speakers. It was a...friendly invitation to this Sunday's concert beginning at 10 AM.

I've got a bad feeling about this.

Boy, are these people hard to talk to! I didn't manage to squeeze anything out of her. She was frequently reporting to "Central" via radio transmission, though. Note that she performed a maintenance check on the spotlights to prevent them from leaking code. Could they have been hired by the Sleepwalkers? What really surprised me was how she made her exit; with a hyper-jump. This can't be bluepills we're dealing with..

Subject: A Storm Unveiled

Intel suggested that this "concert" would begin at 10 AM today. And boy, did it flame up!

I jacked in today, and immediately noticed how the sky had drastically changed--a void covered with masses of dark clouds streaming above me.

Another voice coming from the speakers caught my attention. Turns out these spotlights had been used to drain power from the system to force reinsertion on all Redpills.

I knew they were up to something big..

It wasn't long until Security personnel started appearing at the different sites. High Redpill activity was reported in Tabor Park; I went over there to check it out.

The spotlights on site were now shooting out beams of electricity. Redpills gathered to shut them down, but they were heavily guarded by Sleepwalkers.

Certain Redpills have obtained the clothes of the Security personnel themselves, as a token of power and recognition.

Shortly after the spotlights had been shut down, a Security guard called "Mr. McNeal" was spotted in Bathary Row. The fight quickly moved there.

However, the Security personnel had now stopped their silly charade. They were indeed Sleepwalkers themselves, poorly disguised as bluepills.

Additional Security personnel were spotted throughout MegaCity; Mr. Quimby, Mr. Bartle, Ms. Finch, Ms. Walls, Ms. Tucker and Ms. Osburn.

They were patrolling the different sites to prevent Redpills from shutting down the spotlights. Lights that had been shut off were turned back on.

At first it seemed like an eternal battle, but they were greatly outnumbered, and quickly fell to the ground. Our Operatives were eventually able to shut down all of the lights.

It's over.

They wanted sleep--they got it. There were a few survivors, but they have been...dealt with, in a most satisfying way.

Wadsworth? It's believed that he was threatened or blackmailed to sponsor the concert, and later killed when he was no longer needed.

We won't be seeing these guys around any longer, though. That's for sure.

*sigh* I grow tired of correcting you DM. IF you want to sleep we will let you go back to sleep. Need a tissue? Sorry you met an idiot but there are so many other possibility you could take now it’s ridiculous. The first and most obvious being to go ask to be reinserted.

There is always a choice even if you don't see it there always is one. You may not understand the choice but it's there. Once again I am starting to think you have never seen someone bring a blue pill to the truth.All that I have done and seen have always said that this world is a lie but the truth is worse then the lie.
I have seen many turn down the red pill. Especially those that don't have a problem with it but wanted to hear me out. And those that have been freed with the red are still getting used to the real yes but we make it very clear and known that if you want to go back the Machines are willing to let you.

The machines were reinserting people long before your group went public and most are still fine and
dandy. We know who to reach out to and who to steer clear of. We know they are fine as no agent’s

No they question because in order for the Matrix to work and be stable so that it doesn't erupt in disaster like it once did 1% of all the humans in the matrix that are created for it (6.5 billion I believe) inherit from birth a sixth sense that tells them something here is not right. Yes and how will you do this? Lets see your track record.

1. Bring The Scanner to Sai Kung Station from Furihata Canton - Failure
2. Force reinsert all Red Pill back into the Matrix during the "Piece of Blue Sky" concerts -failure

Those are your two largest task and both failed miserably.

Hmm you said something about putting words in people mouths I believe. No what I have done is shot down every single attempt to prove that there is nothing wrong with your organization, that they all are peacefully, that EPN is wrong in all they do, and every single one of your false claims against myself and the organization I stand for. There is always a choice of peace much like the choice between the Blue pill and the Red pill. You are the ones who are forcing your veiws on people mass insertation. You have taken your choice between slavery and fredom. Do not force your choice upon others.

We adopted the Sleepwalkers name because they did something radical
and truthful to the Cypherite cause, other than our absent Leader
Cryptos has done. We don't currently plan mass re-insertion as Cryptos is our leader as
is Veil. If however, a stronger influence re-appeared, then I am sure
we would follow them.))



(( As for Gami, most of the cypherite cause have become accustomed to
your mass indocrtination and repetative slant on reality. Dont forget
that life exsists in other forms than humans. If you took the time to
learn a little more about the divisions in the Cypherite movement, I'm
