Ciao, tesoros!

Some of you may have seen some unusual activity happening in the City recently. I am happy to report that the situation is now under control.

Some background for you: We have a special liaison program named DifferenceEngine. Or, rather, we had... you see, his particular code structure was designed specifically for interfacing with humans. Apparently it left him rather... vulnerable to certain unwanted elements. A virus.

The nature of the virus is not terribly important. His behavior became quite erratic; he issued vague threats against Zion and the Matrix, and claimed to have some sort of power at his disposal.

An emergency meeting of Machine operatives was called. While the meeting was in progress, reports began to come in; reports of further troubling behavior. DifferenceEngine was tracked to Debir Court and surrounded by operatives, when a new aspect of his condition presented itself.

Very dangerous programs began to appear in the area, indiscriminately targeting those present... I suppose eyewitness accounts would suffice to describe the unfortunate scene.

Rest assured that the area was pacified, and DifferenceEngine has been taken into custody.

His code shall be cleansed. If complete repair is not possible, he will be returned to the Source.

In the process of stopping DifferenceEngine, a certain human proved to be a valuable asset. He goes by the name Turring, and his expertise in artificial intelligence was essential to the malfunctioning program's capture. Syntax Machine operatives, please direct all future communication through Turring. His intelligence, loyalty, and... stability... are all valuable assets to us.

Remain vigilant, my tesoros. And be well.

Yup, I like Turring a lot more. The human touch is welcoming.

just cos were machinists doesnt mean we're robots :smileywink:

The grin upon the face of his undoing is of GREAT importance, Pace! Smith trampled through his code, screaming through the folds of his mind, devastating his being! Do not clap your hands and smile away the importance of this happening, it will be that which shows us all the end. A comrade gazes upon six feet of dirt resting above him, at least release the truth.
Pace, if the vector continues to shake the hands that hold key links in our long and heavy chain, we will forever refer to eachother as Smith. The first reworkings of his mind, the first reworking of DifferenceEngine's memory faltered, what of it? Nothing... The oblivion we toss DifferenceEngine into will not be the door that closes Smith out of the coded realm...
Our words are not sharpened and neither is our intent. We desire that your pools of vision gaze upon the virus's roots and trunk.
Agent Pace, may the code be your armour...

good to hear Agent Pace. Now on to Agent Gray...
#35000000885 02/27/2006 17:50:03 Re: Agent Pace - Syntax - 2/22/2006
His construction is that of construction, yet his construction met its fortune, a vector. A vector left its sting, its sting left words, a taste of bitterness for our ears to sample. Time ushered in the bitterness and his nostrils swelled.
Vying to cut the strings that Smith has tied,
to rule the madness from inside.
His words convayed the desire for a hand, a hand acustom to madness. How do we calm the voices inside? DifferenceEngine, our mind has many folds to hide the words of one another, but our knowledge of your madness may have been a said hand.
Our pools of vision overflow,
our way to let sorrow show.
DifferenceEngine, return from oblivion, our hand is outstretched, teething so that it may find its way to your core,
to tear from you what is sore.
You will have your mind once more.

What kind of "virus" Miss Pace? Hmmm?....::silence::...Uhhuh...thats what I thought...

I'm glad it was resolved as quickly as it was... and it also served to proove to the Zionties that a Systemic Anomoly is not the only thing capable of dealing with this kind of... incident.

I thought those agents were with you pace. So I guess this means that those agents werent sent to detain Differance at all but some anomolly in his code that was caused by the Smith virus implanted in him, am I at all close?

Nathics speaks the truth. In fact Pace at that meeting you even said that DE was infected with the Smith Virus. Now where could that have come from....I wonder. *Cough* Agent Gray *cough* sorry anyway. See Zion this is who you have a truce with. A bunch of lieing programs wishing to only keep you in control. So seeing this I think that it is safe to once again question (as most of us E Pluribus Neo members have been) Where they lieing about Neo? What about Moprheus and his "death" and what about the Cyphrites?

Ahem. The Special Agents were also the viral-child of Smith/DE. He infected the Agent spawn protocols.

As for Gray, he has already been checked, by the Protector Program. Does no-one ever review the facts?

I had the luxury of stumling upon this meeting in Debir Court.  Thank you Agent for you swift action in this matter.

What makes me laugh the most is when you actually think that the virus that is with-in Gray can be detected. It would not be smart for a virus to allow itself to be found.

You Could Have Prevented It

But You Failed To Consider It A Threat

Now Hell Is Unleashed

You Will Be Judged

Are You Prepared

Um guess you haven't seen him running around Mara C killing anything that moves and heard about his frequent moments of insanity on missions. Sure they checked him and THOUGHT they got rid of it all but they obviously missed something.

Yes, Agent Pace.  An attempt to contact Turring has already been made.

The Watchmen worked closely with DifferenceEngine before this little... problem, and we aim to continue working closely with his replacement.  Contact us if there is anything we can do to assist.

In solidarity,

Shinryu

DifferenceEngine's presence amongst the source for the reworking of his mind has occurred even before Pace held him in her arms. The solution was to take away the knowledge of these happenings. This virus exhibits symptoms that can present itself even from behind your closed doors. Combing out the tangles in his code will not provide the cure. Viruses can sleep just as dragons do, just as they sleep, breathing their fumes through Gray's mind. Is it within this realm that any though could be entertained, a thought that Gray may be the vector?
#35000000898 02/28/2006 03:30 Re: Agent Pace - Syntax - 2/22/2006
My current inability to jack in has denied me the chance to meet either DifferenceEngine or Turring as of yet. I do hope that DE can be cleansed effectively, and from reports I've heard I trust Turring will do an excellent job in his stead.

I'd like to thank Agent Pace for her handling of the situation, and those members of the Glitch Society who were present for their excellent conduct.

Yes, very clever. Thank you for stating the obvious, oh hacker supreme. What are you trying to prove?
