Stop attacking each other. People are upset and frustrated, which is understandable and acceptable. People want to vent their feelings, which is also understandable and acceptable as long as they don't violate the Terms of Use. What is not acceptable is attacking other players on the forums.
Why not open the server anyway? Several reasons. The first being that we'll get a flood of bug reports on things we already know are bugged. While we'll get that anyway when the external playtest server opens, it won't be quite as much as if we were to open the gates now.
The second being we only have one shot at a first impression of CR2.0. It still won't be as polished as we'd like it to be when we open the external playtest server in January, but we need to get it out anyway. We sat down a few weeks ago and identified every issue that had to be fixed before playtesting and worked to resolve those issues. There are a few left, so we won't open it.
How did we define those items? Let me spin you a scenario: We open the playtest server and the community gets to see CR2.0 in a slightly broken form. At that point, a number of players say, "This sucks" and never log on to the playtest server again. Or worse, decide that this is all they can expect from this major change in the game and leave MxO completely.
Will some players already be frustrated enough with the delay now to leave? Probably, but we hope not. Do we think a bad initial impression of what combat is going to be will cause even more damage? Absolutely.
There is no one more upset by this delay than the team: When you've been pounding your head on an issue and cranking out as much code as they have, you become invested in the outcome. The team wants the community to see it, but we came to the agreement that you shouldn't see it as it is. The feedback would be too focused on things we already know we need to fix and the initial impression wouldn't be close to what we want.
With that, I return you to your regularly scheduled thred. No flaming, please.

i completely agree with that on the business end, that is the worst marketing decision ever. why not keep it a secret untill it IS ready, then give us a release date. or if nothing else, just let it be a suprise altogether. sony would definitley get better responses if they used theyre heads when advertising things of this magnitude.
Because then people complain that they're not telling them anything. So they, in an attempt to make the community happy, tell you when they are PLANNING (that's right they said they HOPED to get it out yesterday, not that they WILL get it out yesterday, see the difference) to have it ready you complain because they shouldn't have told you anything in the first place.
So what do you want, do you want updates from the deva on what's going on, or do you just want them to let you know when it's ready? You can't have it both ways.

I'm hungry for any news related to this
Now whars that pesky Walrus at? *Loads Harpoon gun* yarrr
Agreed.... I am a little sad that there hasn't been a note to say 'we're back and working on the QA, sit tight'
Nothing crazy, just a teaser.

Ok ill admit the whole concert thing ihas valid points on each side. However I was remarking to a comment made to me not one i started.
As for giveing a free play period again yes i think it would help alot. For people like me and you that are still playing and hopeing it will get better it will be a stick ith us guys we have something you will realy love type thing.
As for still paying the game yes I am and I would love to continue that but however if its a choice of paying to wait for something to might happen or to spend my money on other things that ill give me something to do besides partys and pvp its getting hard to justify.
This thread was for both sides to state there ideas and im just stateing my view.

I understand your frustration - you want them to follow through on what they said, QA out last month and able to start testing, makes me frustrated to but, the fact of the matter is they hold all the cards. I "tried" to give my opinion about how this made me feel, which is what these forums are for but, you can't even do that without a bunch of fanboys jumping down your throat.
The fact of the matter is you have no control over them (SOE Dev) except with respect to your monthly service fee. Which, honestly, by itself is nothing. We have been playing through crap that would have shut down other MMOG's becuase there is something about MxO; either we are big fans or we like the game mechanics or we appreciate the community so much that it overwhelms the fact that there are a lot of aspects to the game that are left to be desired.
Rest assured that SOE and the MxO Dev have a vested interest in getting things right and continually improving the game, however, if you feel they need to get on the ball or do something that's not being done, tell them. Don't sweat the fanboys.
That being said, where the hell is my QA server!!??

ROFLMAO!
I'm as keen as anyone else here to play the EPserver... but this is one long @$$ thread of bickering and flames (as well as plenty of good comments). Especially considering that most of the time you lot are bitching about "MxO is so buggy" and now you are fighting over playing on a test server that you KNOW will be buggier than ther regular servers.
I just think it's a little funny.
See you there with bells on! B)
