Update 35 discussion thread (Walrus can hijack this if he wants)

Might as well get the comments in one spot.



For the buddylist, it might have helped some confusion if you had said
to use /importcontacts in the patchnotes instead of us spending time
trying to figure it out.



I miss my Shadow Jacket's usefulness.  PvPing as a low character
was fun with this mixed with a MA or hacker.  I was using ninja
tactics and it was fun.  Don't tell me i could load stealth, I
don't have that extra memory slots as a level 40.



The new pill: twenty minutes later after word of mouth i find out it was at the bartenders.

Thank god for the removal of the Sneak Jacket sneak grant.  I was
a bit annoyed when I found out that it hadn't been removed in the patch
that did this in early (if not the patch to) live.



The pill is an interesting addition, and while it's timers are incredibly long, it will play an interesting part in PvP I wager.



The chat system was needed, and I am very happy that we finally have a
way to communicate with our friends again in and out of game. 
It's something that will be very important if/when live events
characters return.



All in all, there may not be a whole lot of things in this patch, but
the stuff in it is a very good start on the road to building things up
again.  But then again, after seeing the Pandora's Box patch, I
don't think much can quite compare for a while

Ok here I go:

1. /importcontacts - Review: Only works when that person has come online after they have reinstalled the patch, and jacked into the matrix. End Result:  So far...I have 5.


2. /friend Vector.*Character handle* - Review:
   Ability to talk to members on different servers - good idea for Alt
   Characters to keep intouch with factions on opposing servers. End Result:
   Has only worked for one person on Recursion. Is this a bug? No one else
   can be added on my Recursion character from Vector, so this has
   confuzzeled me even more.


3. Activity Facilitatpr 1.0/2.0 - Review: The Pills can be found at any club vender. They have kool animations, but are very expensive. End Result: I'd rather have a Negative Condition Sweep.


4. The Shadow Jacket - Review/End Result:  Not too clued up on the fixes because I have never got round to getting one *Considers farming for the stuff for it*.
   
   


5. Leakage of Mobius Code - No memory footprints, heals your RSI, howevr a 5 mins reuse timer. Walrus has stated that the release will be..soon.

Vertict on Update 35?

Mobius code excites me for what this live event will hold.

Mobius code? I just went ingame and didn't see anything in my inventory or anything.. What is/was this mobius code?.....

sorry for one thing I saw the notes for this patch 2 days before it was baught out and all I could think was when I saw it auto loading was, why?

Why bother I'm not going to use this chat thing every chat I need is in game. I dont care about the pill. I'll getstunned use it then get stunned the second after I use it. a waste of time really. even if I dont get killed I best think of staying verry far from combat for the next 10 - 15 mins. sounds fun.

Also whats to stop people stunning you you use the pill so they use botlle neck and I cant move any way and just get hacked to death.

um how about I get stunned use my pill then as I'm trying to load inventory I get pulled in to Close combat and then the hacker can use all the downgrades in the world as well as enrage I'm 'F'ed that way.

tell me what was the point in this waste of hard drive?

I gotta say i'm just lovin the new chat system.  I can finally talk to my SWG friend while in the Matrix, aswell as my friends on Syntax.

There's not really much changes in the patch, just the 1st phase of SOE chat and the removal of the stealth grant.  I must say i'm impressed with the devs detication to the game.  If they continue with these regular every 2 week patches all of the bugs will be fixed before MxO's first anniversery.  I don't see how people can say the MxO devs aren't doing there jobs now(wink,wink), not with the progress they've made.

True if MxO is the only SOE game ya play then you probebly won't have much use for the new features.  However just wait for the next patch when they and they add custom chat channels.  You'll be able to make a channel for use between you and another faction, or better yet a chat channel for each organization all together.

Anyone notice that MA rolls are completley screwey?  think they broke consistent technique or something. i have seen a MAJOR fluctuation of special move rolls. . . .very dramatic, like extreme falling kick roll a 260, and after the reuse timer refreshes, turn around and roll a 330. . .i've seen reg. attacks roll as low as 220s, and turn around and roll 306s. . . *CENSORED* did u guys do to the MA tree? just letting the devs know, TAKE A LOOK AT IT. . .something isnt right

Has anyone else been able to add/ignore a person by rightclicking their name that shows up when they say something?

sounds thrilling ohhhh. I'm sorry I'm probibly tired but I'm really on the verge of just putting this game on the wall with all my other matrix collection and just thinking the amount of GAME prospect there was in the idea of that game and apparently the best thing about it is I can talk to my SWG friends. oh wait I have none as I never played the game.

yippie I reached 50 about a week ago all I have done from there is kill guys and grind some more for info just to level skills to get more info so then I can have more skills so I can kill more things. that have no point. no relevance. I am waiting for this live event that more than probably will happen over night here and then it'll all be over in 1 foul swoop.

I had an idea to make 50 less boring once again ignorance is bliss for the devs.

Like every patch there are some good and some bad stuff...



the good first,

the new chat system is nice, chatting with ppl from other server or other games makes lot of fun =)

the sneak jacket without the sneak abiliys, also a good change, time for those hackers to load sneak ;P

but the bad thing, the new pills... are you joking?

how rich do you think we´re?

the 1.0 pill costs 100k and the 2.0 pill 500k???? oO

sry guys, but thats a bit to much, i mean it will be ok if anybody can
decompile the pill and compile it for a price like the Tactic Booster
4.0, but so... its useless, no its more like this, it´s like you´re
kidding us!!!

In order to add a player from Vector to your lists, you have to use the format "/friend Vector-Hostile.Playername" or "/ca Vector-Hostile.Playername". I'm not sure why the "-Hostile" has to be in there - probably because it's just part of the server name.
Anyway, that should fix things, for all you Syntaxians and Recursionites with Vectorious friends.

That pill sounds like it could be one of the most useful things in the
game. Being hacked to death by some loser PvPer is the lamest thing
ever when you're on your way to a mission building or something. I hate
hackers. And yet I use it too.

My favorite thing about the new patch is that you can
refresh Disguise
while you are wearing it, without having to turn it off and back on
again. Very helpful for infiltration missions, but it kind of makes the
timer useless on it, and lessens the challenge of having to maintain
it. You are only really in trouble if you completely dont pay
attention, and let the timer run out.
