As we seem unable to seperate buffs from clothing how about a range of the better buffs being applied to clothing which is in effect invisible  at least less intrusive...this could be applied to headwear, glasses and jackets enabling some additional variations which leave our rsi's more overtly casual in appearence....certainly as regards headwear the hats and bandannas are very needy buffwise but ruin the overall look of most rsi's....

Equally some hats could be effectively wigs providing an alternate solution to changing your hairstyle, some could appear as jewellry, chokers, chains and collars so they are evident yet not intrusive.

The glasses position could be filled with some Jewellry also in the form of ear and eyebrow studs

Jackets could be also be a combination of translucent (read invisible) material with patterns over the top to enable insignia to be added to the clothes beneath.

The style of clothes changed with cr2 but today once again everyone aquieces to broadly the same look for each build....please deliver some real options for variety which dont compromise the effectiveness of the rsi!

Again with the good ideas, Ty....

You think if all the rest of us got together we might be able to compete?

Nah...

I LOVE this idea  SMILEY

I prefer to not wear a hat and yet I'm essentially punished buff wise because of this.  One of the goals of the CR was to lessen reliance on buffs from clothing... and while this was accomplished to some degree (although in a backwards fashion), the headwear slot has not been addressed.  Also, as noted, the gloves slot and the glasses slot could also benefit from this idea.

good idea and that could be easy to implement because your not adding
anothrer section of clothing your using hats + glasses, great work

Yeh brill idea's I think it were a while ago I posted about clothing in the old combat system where every1 used to wear blackwolf, troll hide, those 9MCT pants, corrupt hands and stuff like that so I think I posted we should have seperate buffs which we use to enhance clothing that we can buy from vendors, and then we would have a new meaning for the whole upgrade maker thing because now I think I don't use it anymore as I hate ppl who use pills (dirty cheating *bleep").

Well... Rarebit likes the idea.   I guess that's something  SMILEY

His response:

"That's a cool idea, and I'd love it if we could get things like hat slot items that were necklaces, or something. However (yeah, here it comes), at this point I don't expect to be able to get artist time to supply brand new clothing models like that. "

Can't get artist time?!?!?!?!?

What, like you couldn't put it out to the community to do, like EVERY other game in the universe does?

Give us the spec-sheet for your deliverables, Rarebit, give us a WEEK.

We'll give you more new clothing models than you can shake a stick at.

EDIT: Well, wouldn't be the same without one!

Well as regards artist time in fact simply having items in theses slots that are completely transparent/invisible would instantly assist the variety of clothes out there.. no artist needed!

An invisible hat.

That's all I want.

I can pretend it's a necklace if you feel that it's necessary, it'd just be nice to get the buffs from the sakura bandana without having to wear the stupid thing.

Mebbe I could tie it round my wrist...
