Knife throwers and hackers are dependant on their special moves for good damage output. While other trees such as gunmen and now in CR2, MA's have a free fire weapon which their style enhances the damage for.
My suggestion is to create free fire Hacks and knife weapons. Something you could equip and fire as if it were a gun, only the damage caused was enhanced by their respective styles (Hacker style for viral, spy style for thrown)
This way, I believe all the various disciplines will be on a level playing field in terms of combat mechanics. Both having a standard free fire weapon that compliments their style, and abilities for high damage and special states. Perhaps with this change hacker abilities could be modified to require states, like other offensive abilities.
