The tortured sky twisted above him, it's soft mix of black and gray clouds swirled in the twist. Streaks of lightning would illuminate the clouds and below them the endless stretch of desert. There was a duality to this mess of clouds. The ugly things it represented, humanity and its unwillingness to initially cooperate with the machines, the enslaving of humanity, the usage of humans as batteries... but the sky itself was beautiful, breathtaking as a whole in its twisted grace.
Darminian sat on the cold ground and stared across the endless stretches of scorched sky and dead earth. It was peaceful to him, no city below with the moving masses, no noise from them and their endless speaking and buzzing, nothing but the calmness of the storm and the absence of society. The stupidity of the collective masses not present, only the serene calm of the absence of everything.
It was peaceful and enjoyable, it brought him closer to reality as a whole, he could meditate in the matrix and bring himself closer to the code, but reality that’s another story. He found himself enjoying the calm chaos around him as he stared out across the desert, everything was calm and it was a soft emptiness..... something in the back of his mind ticked.
"Lonely? I can’t be lonely, there’s no one I would even want here with m....." He thought to himself, before it hit him like a purple brick. He hadn’t realized how much she had come to mean to him, how much he wanted her by his side.
Her scent, her touch, her taste. It ran through his senses.
The embrace of her as one thought caused a chain reaction in his brain, a beautiful plague raced through his mind. It filled him with thoughts of lust, passion and some things he didn’t want to accept feeling.
He wanted more than anything to find her and sweep her off her feet, free her from the drama, but he knew he couldn’t. Her independence was what made her who she was, he could only wait now. Eternity as usual.....
