Chapter 1
Depression casually walked into the jack in area of his hovercraft. He glanced at KysterKyzell, who was eating another bowl of mush. "I swear Kyster, you must love that stuff," Dep said stopping to sit down next to him. Dep stared at the bowl of mysterious mush, trying to figure out what it was. "Does it look like there would be anything else to eat," Kyster replied, turning his head to Dep, while shoving another spoonful into his mouth. Verita came running into the room, almost tripping over Kyster's foot. Verita was a normal young kid, with raggy clothes. But then again, who in the hovercraft didn't wear raggy clothes? "Dep, I was hacking a machine database, and came across something that I think would greatly help out your investigation," he said, while running his fingers through his thick hair. "Is it something that is actually important, and not just based on what you think," Dep asked him while slowly getting up from the bench. Dep streched, knowing that this would probably be just another discovery of useless information. Verita said, "Come on Dep, you gotta trust me on this one." Dep decided to listen to him and go with him to the chairs to be jacked in. Verita was kind of excited to be involved in coming across some potentially vital information. Dep and Verita leaned back in their chairs awaiting Uudoo to give the signal for Haywire1 to come jack them in. Uudoo was given the job of the operator since he loved computers. Uudoo was kind of skinny, but that was because he stopped eating the mysterious mush for a couple of days. Haywire1 was well buit, because he loved to train in training room near the back of the hovercraft. Uudoo and Haywire1 both had dark-colored hair, almost making them look like brothers. Uudoo finally gave the signal for Haywire1 to jack in Dep first. Dep never really liked being jacked in for some reason. But he liked being in the matrix, so it was like a good/bad thing. Dep came out at the Tabor west hardline. "Dude, where the hell are you." Dep asked. "Right here Dep," Verita said with a slight chuckle. "My bad, I guess I went blind for a minute," Dep replied while loading his Upgrade Master abilities. "Ok, the computer is in Tabor Tower on the 10th floor," Verita said, leading Dep into the dull gray tower. When they both went to the elevator, Dep stopped, sensing that they were being watched or something. "Something just doesn't seem right," Dep said while pressing the 10th floor button. "Oh don't worry bro, I scanned the area for any guard programs," Verita said. When they both got to the 10th floor, Verita escorted Dep to the computer in a room nearby. Dep noticed a black briefcase sitting next to the computer. Verita sat down, logging on to the network that he hacked into earlier. He then clicked on a minimized window dubbed, "Come and get me." It pulled up three seperate screens, showing the profiles of LinksLife, WGAnubis, and SmithsVirus. Dep asked, "And is this important information?" "No man, it's what you will find out from it." Verita replied, clicking on LinksLife's profile. The screen showed a bar constantly going up and down. "What the hell is that," Dep asked while pointing his index finger at the bar. "It's Links's mental pressure bar. When he is under pressure, like being tortured or is in a dangerous situation, the bar goes up, making the chances of Vanon coming out higher. When he is not under pressure, it's just the opposite." Verita said while minimizing the other profiles. There was a box underneath Links's name. It read, "He has an evil side named Vanon that is very dangerous. At this moment, Vanon has not come out because of a cure from a merv operative named WGAnubis. Anubis claims that he has cured the demon program. But recent meetings with Anubis may suggest otherwise. Approach with extreme caution...." Dep pulled up a chair, then leaned back in it, while scratching his chin. "Show me the next one," Dep commanded. Verita pulled up Anubis's profile, but it had no new info, or anything typed under his name. "Hmm, show me the last one then," Dep said to Verita. He nodded and pulled up Smiths's profile, which was the same thing. "I hear someone coming," Verita said. Dep got up and pulled out his rifle while Verita logged off the network. Just as Verita pulled out his shotgun, AliceThePattern opened the door, then bowed to Verita. She then waved to Dep, after she shut the door behind her. "Hello Dep and Verita," she said with a smile. She went over to another computer on the other side of the room and sat down in a big chair. She tried to log onto the other network, but she stopped to hear the elevator ding. She talked quietly on her phone, then hung up quickly. "Uh-oh, we better get out of here quickly," Alice said while getting up quickly. She ran to the door, opened it up, and went into the hallway. She looked at the open elevator door, and made her way to the elevator. She stopped suddenly and screamed at what she saw....
