Well, this was all he needed, Void thought, his eyes pouring over the transmission with suitable disgust... He wasn't concerned about the Chambers posing any sort of threat, of course. He doubted that they could even rally all the Machinists to their cause, and he was fully aware that Machinists, so oft-misunderstood, were in the minority at large... Not to mention that the Merovingian still had in reserve many... unconventional weapons which he had yet to employ in defense of his interests.
Void supposed that he, too, was one of the Merovingian's weapons for the defense of His interests...
Apart from writing regular reports for Flood to throw away, Void's employment was derived from "protecting the Merovingian's assets." Usually, this meant making sure that Marrith wasn't gnawing on anyone of importance. But Void knew naturally that the Frenchman's own life was His most valuable asset, as well as Void's at the moment.

But somewhere in the back of his mind, he already knew what it was going to come down to. Somehow, through some trick of intolerably cruel fate, he would have to make a choice between failing to do his job, and destroying the one person he truly had feelings for. Void considered both fates worse than death itself, despite the fact that he was fairly certain death would be a consequence of either path.
Leaning back, and feeling more depressed than he had in some time, he sighed broodingly...
