/OOC
The thoughts and opinions of this post do not necessarily recflect those of the general populous, zion and Pluribus Neo, they are my thoughts and opinions and i ask that they don't come to bother me later when im in character or that they come to bother someone who had nothing to do with them.
I think those that were too critical of the event need to look at the greater scheme of things, this event was really more in place to tell a direct story and to shift things somewhere else, you were really more of an audience then a participant as was the intention i believe.
as for so many people being left in the dark, its hard to explain the course of an event without blowing things especially like the side switching. As for the communications between the DOE and the MCPD, well frankly i don't know what to say, i mean the MCPD knew what was going on, if they didn't say boo to you or if you weren't briefed its kinda too little too late. Also i don't know if they were going to brief you on locations of their bases and the like. Secondly your dilemma seems to stem from the fact you both wish to try and control energy distribution in the matrix aswell as hardline functions and other technical situations, personally i find most of it amusing but irrelevant.
As for many within the faction, they too were witness to this event and carried with it while being in the audience, i can't think of many who knew all the details, the only differnece is we were on the opposing side of the combat.
As to those caught up in strange PVP business, not much i can say, apologies for your misfortune in dealing with the MCPD Symmetric, but we cannot control the options of PVP, only our actions, i know many who were fighting today who otherwise wouldn't be, whether it be for keeping up appearences or for story purposes.
I personally enjoyed the event, athough many can complain about thier interactions with it, they aren't trully affected if they found they weren't heavily involved. Just case and point the truth in my POV.
As far as this event goes, its not like its the grand finale people, its really just the beggining, this is the first step towards what will be a series of events and the like, if the first one didn't involve you, it doens't mean the next one won't, especially since so many of you now want us impaled, which still amuses me.
Also, with the exception of Kshana Return and maybe Phrack, there weren't many individuals involved period, this had its pros and cons. Pro would be the easy linear structure of the boradcasted story, Con would be the people annoyed with the lack of their own involvement.
What i find interesting though, is how many were flagged and fighting at the node when they didn't even know why they were there. I mean i heard people dropping the graphed points of Kshana's location but not one person state what she was doing, not to say they missed it, in fact that points out something the event didn't give well.
But once again IMO you can't expect the "terrorists" to brief you on thier actions and if the MCPD didn't tell you or the DOE didn't tell you or for that matter you missed it, i feel bad but theres not much that can be done. I won't say the event was flawless but no event ever really is, but for what the intention of this event was i will say it got the job done nicely.
The story was told on the stage, the barricade and explanation was produced, the combat ensued involving anyone who flagged up, i mean its more about story then level, im a lvl 35 and i was in there, hitting and missing.... mainly missing. Also the story of the event was short, and didn't leave much time to involve the community, as that wasn't its goal, it truly was more of a beggining i think, the first chapter or part of the saga if you will.
I mean look what we have now for everyone to work off of, a newly found traitorus merv, and angry faction feeling betrayed, a crapload of machinists who may be at eachothers throats over city control, ravaged machinists bases whom requre repair and most likey vengeance, naive little bastards like myself running around and not worrying about the pathetic masses against them.
We even have those who believe were making a mockery of the name of neo, but even if you believe thats the case, you've probably believed that from the start, and this only goes to show you, were not stopping, hell were just started pushing your buttons, so maybe you should step up.
Lord knows zion will probably wanna lock us up so theres some more story to work with, hell the merrovingians who don't want justice want us to return Lady_Return, especially the DA.
I mean although many of you will consider this a fairly closed door experience, its really opened up a crap load of doors to work and run with.
Probably why now, as i sit here and type this i realize how much i did enjoy this event, and regardless of the critics, things were executed alsmot perfectly the way they were intended and looked over, at least on our part, Return's part and Kshana's Part. Also on the part of all those who stopped us and fought.
I could keep going but i don't think i need to, i'd like to, but i don't need to.
Theres still plenty of opened doors, its just a case of walking through them.
