I'm taking a break from MXO.
For how long?
No idea. I might be back next week, next month or next year or never. Depends on how much I'll miss the game. Right now I'll say I'll be back when there's more content, a lot more.
Why?
I don't RP that much anymore. When I do, I get bored real quick. I started RPing around october 05 I think, and for a time I enjoyed it a lot. Last months I've been here and there but it looks like I've seen it all.
Been pvping a lot too. Which was fun as well for a while. But the mindless pvp gets boring too.
I've been trying to get myself to do something else than RP and pvp. Made a faction, been busy with photoshop enhancing screenshots. But I realise now that I don't want to continue paying for little hobbies that I don't need MXO for. Others say it, I've said it myself too: What makes this game is what you put in to it. Well, I dont think like that anymore. It's like paying a ho and jerk yourself off.
The game itself just isn't worth playing anymore and to me it hasn't got anything else to offer then RP and pvp. Last months I only jacked in to chat with friends and pvp a bit. For everyone I spoke with, sorry for when I said I was sticking until they shut down the servers :smileytongue:
The reason on top of the list would be that MXO lacks content. Yeah, due to the lack of subscribers we "players" have to wait a little longer for content. But I'm tired of waiting. Right now we have the org abilities coming and the white halls for each org. I definitely will enjoy every content they'll release but probably not for long. Pandora's Box was a hell of a lot more content than some abilities and a room and even that got old.
I could of course grind mindlessly so I can buy and level all abilities, try to master them but I never really liked half of them anyway. I have had every ability and item that I want, so game-wise I am more then happy with what I achieved.
What next?
Just canceled my account. Subscription ends on the 28th of July. I'll jack in from time to time, perhaps I can catch a glimp of the White Halls/Org abilities. Perhaps I'll change my mind and come back. If not, I'm wishing y'all a happy new year.
I tried other MMO's: SWG, COV, Guild Wars, Saga of Ryzom and some more etc. etc. - Have to say, nothing comes even close to MXO, nowhere did I get sucked in the game like MXO. On of the major reasons to keep playing was the LET. Not LESIG, who's doing a fine job btw.
When the old LET team got fired I wanted something else to enjoy in game. This became RP. Which was a blast as well. Much respect for everyone out there who RP's and keeps this game going with more interesting stories than Chadwick comes up with. Really, I've been to following Chad's story and it's fun but for me it doesn't come near to some of the RP stories in the NR board and some on going stories in game.
Anyhow, the game has lost a lot of it's shine since release. I cross my fingers and hope it'll get better one day.
