System Crashes / Bluescreens

Not sure whether this will make any difference to you or not as my problem initially was that the game would freeze, worth a try though.

Load dxdiag up and go to sound1 tab which sould be your sound card.

Then at the bottom there is a small slider which allows you to select the hardware acceleration. Try moving it down to low and then run the game and see if the problem still occurs. If it doesn't, try moving it up another notch and see if the problem occurs.

Then it is basically a task of trying to find the best settings for you if it is the sound that is causing the problem.

Thanks for posting jeffers, i had a go but the error seems unrelated. I left my character at mara c for 20 minutes and it was fine, did it again half an hour later and when i came back it had blue screened again

seems to happen on any resolution and even with the sound turned off

a glitch in the matrix or my box? who knows ? well if you do post

Your system is pretty impressive, but I really want to say it's a video issue.  Reason being I used to have a GeForce FX 5700LE and there were many issues.  Crashing being one of them (No blue screen though.)

Thanks Alex7703 it may well come to a new graphics card at some stage,

I can play Dawn of War and Doom 3 perfectly, just MXO that crashes. Hence my reluctance to purchase a new card does jump to mind, however christmas is coming and would keep the rele's quiet.

ATI is not great for dual monitor display my reason for getting an Nvidia Card, Anyone else got a Nvidia Card that runs like a dream on mxo? recommendations excepted gladly

I do run dual monitors and yes ATI is horrible for that (words can't even describe.)  I also prefer Nvidia, but couldn't afford it. :smileysad:

I used to play with someone that had a GeForce 6800 and said the game ran great. 

This info is from my faction's website (Zion's United.)  This is a list of all unsupported Nvidia cards.  Hope it helps with your search.

Possibly. Not all Nvidia GeForce products will support game play for The Matrix Online. If your Nvidia graphics card is listed below, it does not have the required pixel shaders. Any other Nvidia model with enough memory will work. You can identify your model using the Direct X diagnostic tool.

To identify your video card model:

Click Start, and then click Run.
In the Open box, type dxdiag, and then click OK.
Click the Display tab.
Under Device, look for Name and Manufacturer.
Click Exit.

few things, have you checked to see you havent got spyware ? (itmessed witha friends pc and stopped him playing)

alsoyou seem to have alotof services running on startupand in background which are notreally needed like

wcescomm.exe
CTFMON.EXE


but the main process being Process File: gcasDtServ.exe
Process Name: Microsoft AntiSpyware Server Process

MSAntispyware sucks and should be avoided at all cost's use something like spybot or adaware and justrun googles popup blocker you will have better protection.

Also you seem to have Norton Internet security and Anti virus. if using Norton AV uncheck the Scan network Drives in the config as it will cause your pc to create added network traffic and cause minor DNS queries onoccasion.. i've not checked for ages but also inNorton Security if there is an option add *.Sony*.* to the safe listsas some of the items like the Sentinel are browser pages which could cause you problems if norton is being an *CENSORED* about things.

i see you are using Wireless NIC are you using it with a Router etc.. if so do you use DHCP or Static IP for internal networking?, do you use NAT ?, do you have a static IP from you ISP?, have you or can you open sepcific ports and routing on your pc ? if so have you opened the ones that MXO uses ?. which Firewall do you use,(please not Windows) is windows firwall disabled.

just to make sure your connection is consistant i would run a Line Packet Loss Testing at

it's free you just need to register, i am running a simular setup on the Networking side and found that i had better network response by using static ip but also using DNS servers actually addressed on min NIC, for instance

IP 192.168.0.2
subnet 255.255.255.0
Gateway 192.168.0.1

DNS 62.241.162.200
secondary DNS 62.241.163.200

therefore by passing the NAT truncation of most routers, there is also a small program that can be used to open the simultainious connections that SP2 for windows throttled down to 10, it allows the setting to be restored back to 50 as was the case in SP1. The reason for the throttling was to microsoft's attempt to stop the MAPI based virus spreads which it has inflicted on the worl. if you require this program pm meand i will email it to you.

let me know the results of your packet loss, hopefully if your connection is working good you shouldnt get any loss
