Ok this is something I picked up from my days in beta and live as a mod, and it seemed to help a lot of people, and as its a standard fix, I thought I'd post it.

If your game client doesn't update properly, or you have difficulties logging in or any problems remotely client-related... here's the first thing you should do:

1) Go to your main MxO game directory, and delete the *.zcf files. To be uber-thorough, you can delete the Profiles directory as well.

2) Restart MxO, and do a Full System Check.

If you're getting update errors and are in the UK using any of the following as your ISP:

ntl

ntl:Freedom

Virgin.net

Tesco.net

Which.net

You will need to add a proxy server into your Internet Options. Here's how you do it:

With Internet Explorer open:

1) Go to "Tools", then "Internet Options".

2) Click on the "Connections" tab.

3) Click on "LAN Settings".

4) Put a tick in "Use a proxy server for this connection".

5) Add the following in the "Address" and "Port" fields:

Address: 62.252.192.4

Port: 8080

6) Click on "Ok" and then "Ok" on "Internet Properties".

If that proxy server address doesn't work, you can use any proxy server from the list on this site:

Hope some of you guys find this useful! SMILEY
