Are any of the other SOE games, aside from MxO and SWG, worth getting into? I wish to God FFXI was SOE, especially since it's on the PS2 and all, but I am not so lucky, and shall have to keep paying seperately for that. But, yeah, are the EQ games worth getting into? Or, I think it's called, Planetside?
Other SOE games.

EQ2 or Planetside, stay away from those Station Pass games tho
Cool, thanks. I'll look into them when I get some extra cash.
Planetside is a truly awesome game, imagine something like Tribes but
in a persitant world with much more vehicles and awe inspiring battles
of 100 vs 100 vs 100

A friend told me that Planetside isn't too laggy even with pretty bad comps, but I kinda feel the contradictory imagining 200 vs 200 players going against each other.
Can anyone tell me if the clientside lag is bad with something like this:

Just activated Station Access today and considering buying Planetside: Aftershock as it's only about 20 €.

you'll be fine, I play the game off of a 1.8ghz machine with 512 ram, and a radeon 9800 card. The only time planetside ever gets really laggy is when your fighting in the zerg which is when you've got about 200 people all in the same area and then because your computer has to process all of that, you can suffer from significant FPS drops. Now while that may sound alarming, its not that bad, if you turn down your graphics settings to medium you can still get up to 50-60 fps in heavy fighting.
If you wanna know more about planetside there's a good video I recomend you watch. It was made by a fellow planetside player to try to bring more people into the game, its a really good video, should give you a good picture of what the game is about.
^^^ the large version^^^
PlanetSide is the most lag free MMO available today, I play EQ2, MxO,
SWG and PlanetSide and PS is by far the most impressive (performance
wise)

Adval,
To really have a good experience you may want to consider picking up another 512MB of RAM, other than that PS should run well.
I actually support those forums as well so if you run into tech or performance issues check out the PlanetSide forums, specifically the Tech Forums there and check for the sticky thread for performance tips and tweaks. It should help you out.

I've been thinking about getting a brand new computer soon, so then I will hopefully have the ultimate gaming experience.
My 7 day trial was lovely, I bought Aftershock on Sunday as well.I'm addicted now.
There's almost no "graphical lag" except when entering a massive battle site for the first time etc. Also some problems with character positions (seems like they teleport sometimes, can't get hits and such), but they are fortunately pretty rare.

Adval,
Yep that will happen from time to time, usually in heavy firefights due to network inerpolation. This has improved substantially from the incarnation of the game.
