So what you're saying is, you'll never go back.
I got a station access sub on Monday, and I've been trying to play again after a 4 month absence.
I knew there would be changes, and I'm trying to adapt, but there's so
much that's just fubar, I really don't see myself playing after my free
month expires.
Really sad, as it was my first MMO and I loved it when i started about a year ago.
I still love the concept, the execution has been poor.
I also hear that Jedi is getting another publish/revamp,
making 2 in about 1 year, which wouldn't be so bad if they revamped the
other professions that need it. (Yeah, I'm talking about Smuggler, one
of the most (iconic, and) ignored professions in the game, though it's
not the only one, but I was a Smuggler, so I want it fixed)
Between that and 95% of my friends gone, there is little reason to stay.
they are actually getting an entire expansion

now, in game, I am waiting for the old man so I can begin my force
quest.
I heard the rumors, then it was confirmed yesterday.
It boggles the mind that they are basically ignoring the rest of the
players who like some of the more than 30 other professions and have no
desire to grind out Jedi.
They've changed the new player tutorial to show you Jedi fighting at
the end and if you do the beginning quest, as a real new player
would, they basically tell you 'we've been watching you, you are very
special', ensuring that everyone who even thought about becoming a Jedi
will know it's quite high profile and obtainable.
Of course, a visit to any of the major starports will tell you that too.
They've added new 'content badges' in Mos Eisley, where you start, so
you can become 99% done with force sensitive 'glowy' in less than an
hour.
The only thing left is to master any profession, which can be done in a day or two.
They've taken away the negative xp for dying to npc's and they no longer get visibility if they are in a group.
Wouldn't want to make it too hard on them now, would we?
Of course, they stated several times that Jedi was to be rare and quite hard to obtain, obviously that was just another lie.
I did not go for RoTW, as I didn't really know if I'd be staying or not.
Reading the forums, it appears that all the quests are all instanced and that many are also broken.
The new expansion doesn't look interesting if you are not going for / already Jedi.
Apparently, everyone gets to meet Obi-wan Kenobi's ghost and take
missions from him, get a special lava colored saber crystal and some
othe big reward.
Whee, what are my Smuggler, Doc, and Crafter are going to do what with those?
Oh, sorry, the Doc and Crafter can't even get them as they are
completely non-combat characters and the majority of the expansion is
"high-level content".

ok in response to this a few thing s which are mind my language aload of b****cks .
1 the new badges at the start do not add up for 99 % of the becoming force sensitive.
2. they havent left the other proffesions alone if you read the last fw patch notes for swg theyve recently revamped creature hndeler and have upped the drop on smuggler loot.
3. as for the new expansion fair enough let it be for jedi and dont whigne about it . rotw wasnt for jedi it was for pve players which i may add most jedi are not so stop whining.
4. as for your coment about bieng a crafter the path you chose was to be a crafter when you chose this you chose to be none combat knowing ful well that the majority of the game will be based on combat. if you dont like it change your template.

Woah, if you got your character glowing in less than an hour.. You need to stay off the drugs...

It took about 2.5 hours. For an established player.
New player, probably about 3-4 hours.
Sorry, my mistake, but based on what I'd read, it would take about an hour. Maybe I was just slow.
Doing those intro missions does count as the 'content badges' so the
only things left are the poi badges and mastering 1 profession.
All new players get a speeder while doing the intro missions, making it quite easy to get the poi badges.
As for the 'revamp' of CH, yeah, there's so many more of those around than Jedi.
I'm getting tired of seeing them.
There haven't been too many CH since the 'big CH nerf' about 1.5 years
ago, and I'm betting that there have been even less since the CU.
Smuggler loot drops have been increased, sort of. Most of the loot now
drops more frequently but some are not, and the prices are still quite
high.
It boggles my mind that people used to get so upset when I charged 10k
for a slice, yet now they don't think twice about paying 500k for one.
RoTW is instanced missions of which many are broken. Yet they still charge $25 for it.
I was a crafter long before the CU, yet I didn't have to worry about
being 3 hit incapped by gorgs like I do now. The game is not supposed
to be based on combat. If it was, there would never have been the
diversity of professions available.
For some reason, this new dev team/lead developer/whatever apparently thinks that everyone wants to be a combat character.
Entertainers have been made almost worthless and most of the cantinas are empty.
True "healer" Doctors are extinct and the Med Centers are also empty.
Everyone is now a "combat medic" since you only get medical experience
from healing in combat.
Crafters have no viable weapons to use for defense since weapon use is
now based on combat level, nor can they wear any armor to protect
themselves effectively.
I have a combat character. I made alts so I would have something to do other than combat.
Err i'm new to tempest server and need alittle help
my name is: Axev Hartigan on there..
critters/npcs higher than cl3. The Tusken Zealots and kreetles are cl1,
and womp rats, rills and worrts are cl 2-3.
There is an escort mission or two from the Mayor that have cl5-6 bad guys I believe, Dont remember exact levels though.
By the time you are ready to do those missions, you should be very close to that cl anyway.
