I had a nice surprise at work tonight, I was asked to do the screening premire of V for Vendetta on the Lot. I actually saw it tonight!! Woot.
Let me first say I will not ruin the movie for anyone with saying specific scenes and plots etc But I will Be commenting on the film itself and film making.. I have a couple comments on the film compared to the matrix so if you dont want anything to do with knowing the review please stop reading here....
Here I go:

The  movie was fantastic I had no idea it was going to be this good. I'll admit the posters didnt' really real me in and the trailer just looked okay, but it had so much more awaiting me in the movie. It def has the Wachoski's stamp all through the movie, even though they didndt direct it, there are similaritys in some scene, I wont say but somewhere in the film there is those white halls, subway, and interogation rooms and the intelligence of the characters.
I will say this it fly's by its a hour and 32 mintues and I don't think it slowed down at all. What I did notice is like the Matrix reloaded there is ALOT of conversation, meaning you MUST pay attention, I admit I got lost a couple times, and will have to see it again to fully understand V, he speaks fast. It has alot of emotion and Natalie Portman was excellent, I cried in a couple places by the pure acting alone.
The ending you will all love, it is very well done, I wish I could say but I can't heheh. I highly recommend this movie, I will see it again. I must it is my duty lol.

And remember these two words... " MY TURN" You will see why. Favorite part of the movie.
Remember Remember The 5th Of November..
If you dont know what that means you will...

Great Job Wachoski's! Excellent film making as usual. :smileyhappy:

What a great movie!  I saw it in IMAX last night, which was a bit overwhelming at first for a dialogue-heavy movie, but I got used to it and enjoyed the experience.  Natalie Portman did an excellent job and put out some emotional performances.  Same for Hugo Weaving, in spite of the mask.  The Wachowski Brothers are masters at making you think, without telling you what to think, and this movie was no exception.  It's a bit theatrical, which may not be everyone's cup of tea.  It gets a B+ at Yahoo! Movies, which is about the best you could expect for a movie like this.

Regarding Alan Moore, it seems he is bitter towards DC and Hollywood, so he didn't want anything to do with the movie from the start.  I don't think that should reflect on the movie, and it continues to be endorsed by David Lloyd (Illustrator).  You'll have to decide for yourself if the movie upholds the spirit of the graphic novel.  In the end, it doesn't really matter.  This is a good movie.

Bullet time? Naw. At least not in the traditional sense. Its definitly its own thing.

In terms of raw "coolness" factor, Matrix wins, it always does. In terms of story? V takes the cake. It makes you think, it has action, and they use a very nice selection of classical music. That said, call me crazy, but its worth the $8.75

torrents are great, but unless you have your own home theatre with a digital projector, GO SEE IT.

i agree, i saw it last night and it was amazing.

OMG!  That was the best movie I have seen in a very long time!

I had heard mixed reviews on this.  People had seen it and came back saying it was the best movie in a while, and some came back saying it was so-so.  But, the people who said it was so-so always went expecting lots of fighting and blood.  There was plenty of it, but not as much as they were expecting.  But, I went and saw it because I wanted to know the entire story, see the amazing visuals, the plot twists, and everything else the Bros. are known for.  And, it was purely amazing.

It definatly gave Matrix a run for it's money, but in my book, Matrix still wins...but not by much.

And you should DEFINATLY go see it in theaters.  I wanted to see it in Imax badly, but that would mean paying more, and I need that money for the monthly rental of this game. :smileywink:

But seeing this on a small screen without seeing it on a big one is not gonna be as exciting.

...from the looks of this post, it seems you didn't like it.  Is that true?
