I was inspired today to start working on an old project I had forgotten
about for the MxO Archive: an MxO / MMO dictionary. I gave up on it
after a single afternoon because it involved a lot of work and delves
into areas about MxO that I'm not as experienced with. So, I would be
grateful for any assistance that other MxO players can offer in
gathering information for this dictionary.
I only have one question at the moment, but I'll most likely have more
as I continue working on this. My first question is in regard to buffs
and debuffs. In trying to define the term "debuff," I've stated that it
is applicable to debuffs as a result of an ability only. Does anyone
know, though, if there is any clothing in the game that has a debuff
effect, like maybe some clothing that reduces one stat while increasing
another? I know other RPGs often have clothing items that behave like
this, but I've never seen one in MxO.
Anyway, that's it for now. If anyone has any terms that they'd like to
know the definition for or terms for which they know the definition,
feel free to post them here and I'll take them into consideration. I'm
going all-out and including pronounciation, parts of speech, irregular
inflection, etymology, and derivation and while I can usually figure
most of
those out on my own, the etymology can be difficult to find, as
Internet word origins are very hard to trace and the stories about who
came up with them or where they were first used often conflict with
each other.
