Should I get rid of my hacker tree now?

Apart from my main tree, the Martial Arts (all three branches), I also have all Arbalest abilities upgraded to my current level, 38. Well, ok, they're at 37 right now, but that doesn't matter.

I've bought that tree quite a long time before CR 2.0 was released because it was quite powerful back then, but now that it was toned down, I don't see much attractive in it anymore and consider to get rid of it, maybe to replace it by Gunman. Now that vendors consider the levelling cost when buying abilities, it's become feasible.

So my question to more experienced players, would ít be wise to do that? Can I get an acceptable viral defense (and resistance) by applying the right stat points and stand against hackers in missions without hacker abilities? (I'm planning to get all trees at level 50 anyway, so this would be just a temporary decision for mission PvE, not PvP.)

Or is Arbalest still useful and I should keep it?

And an additional question, is the price I get from a vendor by selling him an upgraded ability the same I've paid to upgrade it, or is it still less? Because if so, I'll, of course, scrap my plans immediately SMILEY

It's a matter of taste. I agree is not powerful anymore, but I find hacker still an attractive option for PvE and missions with my second RSI. If you want to focus in just one tree, go ahead and sell it.

Vendors return every single bit of info invested while upgrading an ability. So if you want to sell it, do it at once, because after April 25th hotfix the offer will be gone for good.

Well, I don't say hacker sucks, I even find the hacker effects quite nice (in their own way), but I'd really prefer Gunman or something. But thanks for the warning man, I didn't know that the offer would be removed tomorrow. I'm gonna do that right now.

Then it comes Pandora's, and the collection of every single codeable item, and....

My Vector alt was a Ballista Destroyer.  I sold every bit of those trees as they are no longer as effective for me as before.  However, hacker is still useful as a support position, imo.  AoEs are always a good way to help your friends while they fight.

Well, Ability Maker requires quite a low memory, too, and I can also fool reds with that SMILEY
