I'm a complete noob at mxo, I just bought the game last night and was wondering if you guys can help me, I'm trying to figure out what which attributes i should build up and which char i should pick @ the general selection, also, which servers/server are the most populated? thanks advance

The entire combat and character development system is going to be changed in a few weeks (CR 2.0), so maybe you shouldn't care about this anymore.

Here are the main purposes of attributes:

perception: unarmed close combat (martial arts)

focus: stealth, gunman ranged

reason: hacker, coder

vitality: max health, health regeneration speed

belief: hyper-jump (forgot the main purpose)

I don't know which server is most populated (guess they're kinda equal). According to what others say, Recursion is "community" (quite many player events there), and Syntax is "Role Play" (RP). However, officially, the only difference is in Vector which forces you in PvP once you hit lvl 16.

Both hyper-jump and the three martial arts styles are available at level 10 (you can buy them already now, but you'll only be able to load it when you've hit 10 and also upgraded all the prequisite abilities to 10). They're Kung Fu, Karate and Aikido. Later, you'll start gettin special martial arts moves, too.

thanks, and do i purchase all of these skills @ at vendor or the hardlines?

You load the abilitys in hardlines and you buy them at vendors, however most abilitys starting for level 10+ cannot be found on vendors (Except for in the higher level areas) and so the easiest way is to find a friend who is an ability crafter (Most people have some abilitys in crafting)

You can use a hardline to buy abilities by accessing the marketplace but it doesn't always have what you want and if it does the person selling it can put a ridiculous price on it which I don't understand because they will never sell it.
