I saw someone in game today with a jacket that looks like a side-zip motorcycle jacket with silver shoulders and elbows.
Is this from a mission series or collector or is it a random drop/boss drop? Any info would be much appreciated! Thanks!

did it have a picture of a ghost-busters style label on the back with a pic of a fly on it, or a 'BeTa' symbol?
if not its just a random drop probly, if so u cant get it
sounds like he is talking about the jacket from when Sony took over and you had your choice of the glasses or jacket. Those are not available to anyone if you were not playing when Sony took over the game. *looks through pics for one* don't seem to have a pic of one 
FireMaker do you know if everyone got the Beta jack as i seem to have only got the shirt, trousers, glasses and the boots! Is this normal?

Jacket and Gloves were if you contributed to the bug testing (contributing a bug report, etc). I had a friend that put in one report and got them.
I believe you are talking about the awakening jacket.
It's a special collector item you got from Loripor, after collecting a whole bunch of docs from an event many many moons ago.
Loripor still offers them, however, i don't think you can collect the needed items for it any longer.
The others above me seem to be talking about the beta gear.
This is not beta gear, its still available, and you may be able to get it still if you manage to put together the proper documents from those who are still holding on to them. I know i held onto them for months before i broke down and deleted em. So, you may get lucky.
They are also activatable items in that you can place them in ur hotbar and use them, though the buff from them is very weak, and lasts only like 10 seconds.
I like it though cuz its kinda got that biker look ..
