#1160000062012/21/2005 22:56:01How To Dress A Lowbie Hacker?
Hey there...name's TheMadHax3r, a future machinist Ballista on
Vector...been playing for a grand total of 3 days or so and I just got
level 10.
However...
My question is this: I've been finding tons of clothes for gunners and MA's, yet jack $h1t for viral transmissions and damage.
Right now, the only stat clothes I have are the sneakers from the Bell
quest, an overcoat and shirt that I found that give defense
percentages, and the level 2(5?) program launcher which is the highest
level and usable one that I've been able to find.
Can anyone give me some tips or point me in the right direction of some
good clothes to pick up for my newbie h4x0r? Thanks much!

I almost forgot, how should I divvy out my stat points as I level up? So far I've put all the ones I've gotten into Reason...

hi fellow mach :robotvery-happy:
the stats a hacker is most interested in are VT, VD, IS, IS regen and
DR. i'm not sure if u can max yr VT and VD just with abils at a low lvl
so u might want to look into finding a (tan?) avero pizzazz shirt that
gives VT 40 and is only min lvl req 3. u should be able to find em
reasonably cheap on the marketplace or ask someone in yr faction to
code it up for u. it might be pricey but look into acquiring a
ravensfeather/tail/wing which is an exile dungeon drop which also gives
good VT and viral damage. there's some good dodged ranged buff clothing
out there too u want to look for, the cheapest to start u off are the
industrial boots (DR 4) which u can get from fastback the collector in
uriah for 9 chopper keys. there's an orange misene trench that gives 10
DR too.
i'm of the school that atm attribute points put into reason are wasted.
i'd say put everything into focus to help yr VD or belief to help DR.
after the new combat revision comes out it'll all be different anyways
lol.

Focus helps VD?
Well, I had no clue. :smileytongue:
On another note, I heard there was some "stat hack" I could use to change my stats around...is there a way for me to go about taking those 9 points I sunk into reason out and switching them over to focus?

fraid not... when the new combat
revision is implemented everyone will be getting attribute hacks to
redistribute points but until that happens no dice. if it's a big deal
to u u can always make a new char :robotwink:

pants that give 20VT and 200 max health. code launcher and DR shoes when u can wear them.
but i suggest u leave hacker until ur around lvl 25. go MA until u reach this and then switch over and wear some good clothes and use some good hacks. oh and mixing hacker trees is good. dont JUST use ballista, mix it with ravager or destroyer. makes all the difference in combat if u can interlock hack somebody with dispoiler then cannon them until they art P00nt!

what he said^^
Pick up a ravenstail as well - you'll find as you level you'll have to switch more of your clothes if you want to pvp (but this is early 40s stuff). If you don't have DR as a level 50...

Alright, I just switched over to as far as I could get into MA...I'm thinking of going into Karate.
I'm definately better at staying alive now, but leveling still feels
like it goes so slow and I'm having a hard time doing assassin missions
on Small/Medium...is there a better layout I should try?

glad to help
unfortunately there isnt an easy way to do missions solo at a lowbie level. i can only tell u wot no doubt everbody else has told u. u need a lvl 40+ to help u out. u will level uber fast. also load 'multi fighting' i think its called. will make fightin mobs easier regardless of wot people say it works
