First off thanks to those of you that responded to my earlier thread on akido/assasin. My next question involves the disrupt connection ability. I loaded the tool and have used it, my question involves what it actually does. I believe it is some kind of debuffer against your opponent, but I have no idea of the particular #s.

1. Does anyone have an idea of exact %'s or #'s?

2. How is your success to hit calculated?

I tried asking people online, checked the boards, couldn't come up with any details. Thanks.

Hehe... People underestimate disrupt connection waaaaaaay too much,
it's a major debuffer, almost as bad as Dispoil, sometimes worse. :smileywink: A good Assassin can melee down an MA easily if they nail them with disrupt connection first.

1) the debuff is generally very high, but how much and what stats it
effects can be random, so it's hard to say exactly, usually nails a
persons ct, vt, and vd. with it I've dropped peoples ct by -70.

2) i've only had disrupt connection resisted on me twice, so if I had to guess it rolls like any other stealth attack.

agreed. i actually had a buddy and me just simply test it out. basically i had all assasin loaded and with my 9mct pants on, him being full MA, got me in interlock and i literally outrolled his moves 80% of the time. that is pretty **bleep** good for all assasin to outroll all MA. so yea, if u can pull of that move, its really nice. its more a support move tho or if ur being chased by 1 person who has MA or hacker loaded. Itll give u the edge over a person.

Disrupt connection is waaaayyy too underestimated. It can be a
fantastic PvP tool ... luckily I think I'm about the only one uses it SMILEY

Hey folks,

You guys were right. Disrupt connection has been a true lifesaver in knocking down NPC's for me when working with a group. I've used it to debuff an npc 12 levels higher, then have an ma interlock, i'll jump in and out with my assas moves=knockout. I've done this over and over again with great results. I haven't had an NPC resist it. However, when i've tried it on players just as high as the npc, they have resisted it several times. Not sure if it was because they detected me, or if the disrupt just didn't work on them. Thanks

Has anyone tried this with the Arc4 boss?

where is this ability located and how much memory does it take to get that loaded? sounds like a great tool for suport classes if they are in trouble...

Yeah. It works on him, too. If you can manage to tag him with that, have someone despoil him, and people might just actually start hitting the guy with normal special moves (ie not swirling ki summon or sneak attacks).

At the risk of newb-shaped accusations, disrupt connection and find weakness doesn't show up in actions, so can't drag it into the hotbar.  What am I doing, what's going on, why won't my coffee make itself?

Thats because you need tools to activate those abilities. Analyze Weakness Tool and Disrupt Connection Tool.

Yep, you need to add the TOOLS to the hotbar.

With assassin up to bulldog level, i would have even points left over to mix it with either gunslinger, rifleman or scattershot. Which one... and why?

This is a very effective tool.  In fact, it USED to be a VERY effective tool.  As its namesake, the ability used to be used to disrupt the connection of an opponent.  For an NPC, this meant instant death.  For another player, this meant a free trip back to the Loading Area.  Even if the disruption was not successful, it still debuffed the opponent tremendously.

Imagine walking around a PvP Construct when all of a sudden you find yourself back in the Loading Area.  It was THAT COOL.  In all respects, it was the operative equivalent to the hacker ability, Crash, which also sent you back to the loading area.

After too many complaints, the devs changed it to what it is now, a debuffing tool.

An effective spy can disrupt an enemy's connection and analyze the weaknesses.  This leaves them completely vulnerable to any attack you wield.
