..when Paul Chadwick or whoever it is that's writing this appaling story these days, will cease with the wild goose chases that have been prevalent in these post-Neurophyte days. Maybe the first time it was excusable to end the last mission with the lame "they just got away before you got there" cop-out routine, but after six or however many times it's been, it's getting ridiculous, and further entrenching the idea that the Matrix storyline has turned into a joke in my mind.
Introducing new characters like Cryptos and the Assassin would have been excellent in an epic storyline, they certainly have the intrigue, but when the Matrix storyline has become a freak-of-the-week type TV drama, how can anyone expect this game to last much longer? They don't even allow enough time to actually get familiar with the characters, to familiarize oneself with them before they kill them off or just forget about them completely (ala Neurophyte). The Assassin would have been an amazing storyline if we had focused on him for around 6 months. I mean, what the hell was he doing while the Neurophyte event was going on, or in the lost month of July? Holding parties at Club Sanguine? If it was the epic storyline one should expect from the Matrix the Assassin wouldn't have taken a break. Why would he risk such a thing?
But I digress. The point of this post is that we need closure in critical missions, not running around being little errand-boys. I believe the Operator even commented on it once (somebody must have added that, as I believe the writer doesn't even know the joke he's producing). Of course, back when we did have closure in missions was when the LET were still around, back in MxO's shortlived glory days.
This is a message to SOE: Monolith did it better than you guys, the so-called "MMO company" or whatever it is you suits seem to think is your moniker.
Just goes to show, the more money you have, the more out-of-touch you become. :robotsad:
