i thought about this too. The only thing i will say is that cryptos is not the leader of the cypherites. Maybe he is a front man to take the fall. I think gemaskeerd or even enmascarado is still leading the effort. I find it hard to beleive that they would just vanish into thin air. even with the Soe transition. They brought toorima back from the Novalis II crew. so im still waiting for those hot heads to show up.

I dont think thats right Megaritz...

Last I saw, Enmascarado was desmasked at Achan North, and was taken captive.  I think he may have been broken out with Veil though...

Are you sure?  Because that sounds more like the various LET controlled Cypherite characters that appeared during the Choice and Consequence event.  Their names were Ocultado, Velare, Espectro, Kamenotoko, Secreto, and Verborgen.  They went around killing random players.

Eventually they were tracked down (with some help from the mission controllers, and some hindrance from false Operators and various other Cypherite transmissions that would mislead the players) and unmasked.  Then they were jacked out by whatever crew the Cypherites belonged to, who then sent the traitors to Zion for questioning.

The last I ever heard of Enmascarado was shortly after Vashuo died.  He lured the Assassin and Niobe to the same location using code bombs.  The Assassin and Niobe fought, all while Enmascarado taunted Niobe and cheered the Assassin on.

Unfortunately for Enmascarado, the Assassin turned on him, and apparent killed him.  But before he died, he said that his RSI was rigged with a "surprise" that would activate upon his death.  This surprise was the Flame Virus, the same virus many of us remember from the end of beta event.

I would like to change a couple of my views/ opinions. After talking with rarebit or having rarebit answer my question i think gemaskeerd and enmascarado don't take such a serious role.

So I'm not sure if veil is the leader of The cypherites, even if they say she is. I think there still may be another person above her. And even at that there may be a huge tier above that, that may control everything..... stops self from divulging more information...

I still think cryptos is not the leader and may be entirely innocent.

I talked to niobe a while ago about some things... some zionite know what was said. And hopefully the other orgs don't SMILEY but  i think i have a lot of more important information. Because what seemed to be the truth may not be the truth at all. And I'm afraid i gave her the wrong information, or maybe the information i gave is now outdated and can lead to horrible errors. So i hope i get to talk to her again and straighten things out :S

I didn't know Enmascarado said that. Cryptos said that he would have joined them as well...But I'm sure they're just trying to mess with our heads, as Morpheus would never join them, he's practically their opposite.

Actually, Cryptos wasn't talking about Morpheus as the Giver Of Sleep. Sleep in this case was becoming and staying a bluepill. He's talking about Cypher. In the same context, he talked about how this same person would "raise a glass of wine" and "eat red meat with us." That was Cypher.

"I knew the giver of sleep. He kept his eye on his dream, and achieved it, in a way. But now I wonder if he would approve of this strange amorphous state. I think he would join us. I think he would throw his reds in the river and sing the blues with us. We can never know, may he rest in peace, but this is what I believe."

If he's referring to Cypher, then why does he say that we'll never know if he'd join the Cypherites or not?

Plus, the speech with the "raise a glass of wine" line is a different speech than the one above.

Did cryptos say he was the leader of the cypherites or did a hologram of cryptos say he was? :smileytongue: there in lies the mystery of this whole thread.

exactly! but what happened to cryptos for the hour he was jacked in? who knows. But I doubt anyone can do a complete 180 in their views so fast. Im not sure if cryptos is involved with the cypherites on his own free will or what. There was another puzzle though that links cryptos with the operation that free'd veil. Also the cryptos in the boxes are all holograms too. We have yet to see the real cryptos.

So there is evidence pointing in both directions on this matter. At this point im not really ready to put my chips in one way or another.

i am surprised no one mentioned the recording with him and Agent Gray! Or maybe they did and I didn't see it! ^^ Anyway it seems like on the recording like Cryptos is not really Cryptos and just a machine program or something trying to act like the real Cryptos! :smileysurprised:

Oh and Secreto was another one of the masked guys SMILEY He was killed on Recursion and is probably still in jail or something :O

i think all the operatives were freed with veil. i could be wrong though.

Yea the sentinel, i forgot about that. It was another simulacrum. That is odd. As for the recording with Gray. That's one of the reasons why i don't believe he is fully responsible.

Although its very odd. And the recording is one of those pieces of evidence that points cryptos to be a cypherite. But furthermore working with the machines. So if he is a cypherite, the True leader of the cypherites would be the machines.

But like i said I think we need one more round of critical missions and a cinematic till i make up my mind for certain.
