I have had the worst time with the string of lupine missions I've gotten... not lupines in general, but rather, the lupine banes.

They should be difficult... I understand that.  But not to the point that they are impossible to hit.

I must have fought one dire lupine bane at least 15 times in the course of one mission and I did not get him down to half health a single time; on more than one occasion, I didn't lay a single finger on him.

I have MA, MA expertise and I am using Aikido; I use endure pain, and I have tried nearly every attack I have.  We are both level 12.

Now the mission has timed out because I couldn't kill the one lone bane remaining in the mission.  That is really disappointing, since it was a special mission, not a "go here, get that" mission.

I mean, what the heck? I even used four silver bullets in one fight and not a single one got through.

Okay already.. I get it.  Lupines are tough.  How about making them realistic? I mean, they're dodging everything I have... if I can't even hit them, what's the sense of having them in the mission? So I can feel like a failure?

I honestly believe the Lupine mission in the Merovingian node storyline (it's called Dire something) should be checked out.

Did you use any tactical boosters or buffed clothing? If not, I suggest you stock up on both. At level 12, you should try to make full use of Iron guard to help lower your opponent's rolls. That coupled with a TB should help. You should also look at other abilties in the Awakened tree, such as Consistent Technique, Detect Vulnerability and so forth. At your level, you don't need to worry about landing statuses so much so either Precise Blow or Energized Attacks should be loaded up and used to help you. If all else fails, run critical missions on "easy" so that you have a little better chance of beating them.

Heh.  Yes, actually I used two tactical boosters in one mission because I was facing paired dire lupine banes and a health booster (+100 health).

All of my clothing is red (enhanced) and I have three items that deal specifically with melee damage reduction and enhancment.

I also have Consistent Technique and Detect Vulnerability.  I tried to use Iron Will multiple times, but it was constantly overcome by the bane's attack.

The lower level lupines, I don't have many problems with.  Mainly it's just the banes.  But having paired banes in two different areas in this mission just really made it difficult and ended with me not being able to complete the mission.
