"mez" is MMORPG shorthand for "mesmirise" which is odd because we don't have mez in MXO. we do have pacify tho, which is wot i think it's supposed to stand for for some unknown reason.

In beta, the term "mez" was used by players when they referred to the pacify state.  In fact, I think the game even called it mez back then.

Actually, when you first meet the Effectuator, he says "The Merovingian made them specially for me".  They're Lupines that have been modified for stealth and infiltration.  They don't teleport, they can cloak.  And Operators can't pin down their location before they uncloak, they can only see intermittent signals where the Dire Lupines are.  Their skin is even darker than a normal Lupine.  According to their Details, "Some trick of pigmentation causes this character to appear as if always standing in shadow.  Their eyes, by contract, look preternaturally bright".

And for those who missed the Effectuator's Details, "This man's jaunty bearing and bright summer clothes form an unusual contract with his neatly groomed, graying hair".

Anyone else having problems with 3.2, dire connection?  I kill the lone lupine, and then three of them come at me and kill me.  I rez, come back, and there is only one lupine left.  I kill him, but the other two are gone and the mission won't complete because I have to "kill all."  This has happened to me twice now.  Very frustrating.  No way to know if it is bugged or if the last two are "hiding" and I don't know how to flush them out.  Suggestions?  Besides, you know, "Don't die."  Thought of that one myself.  SMILEY
