We all know that her fate was different on several of the servers.

My concern is what will happen to her on the new merged servers?

#11500000035 08/16/2005 04:25:13 Re: Neurophyte
The devs and the admins say they havn't forgotten about "our little Neurophyte problem" as they put it.

But I am interested to see what they are going to do with the
situation, as I can't see that many avenues they can take, they either
bring her back to life for some, or kill her off for others.

My guess is that they keep her alive, or make an excuse for the serves
that killed her, such as "The Machines operated upon her to retreive
the kill code, but the surgery was so precise and minute that the
subject was not killed" or something like that.

This is all guesswork and I suppose only time will tell.

#11500000037 08/16/2005 04:31:09 Re: Neurophyte

My question is this: what would they do with Neurophyte if they ever opened up more servers?  Any new servers wouldn't have gone through the Choice and Consequence event.  Some might feel that it's unfair that the "older servers" had a choice in the matter.

#11500000039 08/16/2005 06:26:04 Re: Neurophyte

Agreed.

On Method, we spared her life and joined the machinist cause.  She became a good friend of ours.  I'd hate to see that lost.

#11500000044 08/16/2005 07:40:11 Re: Neurophyte
I hope they fix the storyline so they're the same across all servers. I
don't like the idea of having seperate "official" storylines to the
Matrix universe. I would prefer if there was just one, and depending on
the actions of the organizations as a whole over all servers decide the
outcome of important events for every server.

I'd like to see Neurophyte alive and fighting for Zion (for now), but
perhaps in a event soon allow each organization the chance to "capture"
Neurophtye (or defend for Zion.)

This way the storyline follows the same as the majority of the servers
from the merge, and allows for change so it can once again become like
how it was on some other servers (for example, machines capturing
Neurophyte.)

Of course, all this is personal opinion.

#11500000049 08/16/2005 08:48:10 Re: Neurophyte
SOE will kill her off to save any confusion! lol

But like Garu said, the Method community was very fond of her, I hope she stays the same.

Regarding the event on Method...

We didn't capture Neurophyte, we rescued her.  And we kept her safe from the Mervs and the Zionites calling for her blood, and screaming for the Assassin to kill her.

Zion saved Neurophyte on Enumerator. I would like to know also what will happen to her, and I would like to see what will happen to her. For example I just don't want to hear that she died from the killcode, but I would like to see her get attacked by like the Masked Men, something along those lines. Again, this is only an example, I don't know what is going to happen.
#11500000059 08/16/2005 16:04:24 Re: Neurophyte
On Linenoise Zion saved her and then voted to get the killcode. While I didn't vote to off her, I don't to want lose the killcode. Got kinda used to having it around.

I have no idea how they are going to figure this one out. Should be interesting to watch at least. LOL.

Yep,
I apologise I used the word "captured" when I understand the Machinists
were the quickest to rescue her on your server. My mistake. As a
machinist though, would you be fine with it if she became Zion again
with the chance for every organization to... persuade... her to follow
their cause?

I don't mean it in favour of Zion (I play all major organizations with
3 characters, so I am in part Machinist too) I just mean it as a way to
clear up the storyline due to the merge by following what happened on
the majority of servers.

I didn't realize anyone actually received the killcode.  What does it do?  Can you use it in PvP?

#11500000063 08/16/2005 16:19:49 Re: Neurophyte
It's only usable against NPCs. However, the distribution of the code was not organized period. It was sent as a female gi as a "last-minute" mistake and changed it about a week after the incident. However, I *NEVER* got the gi period despite the fact that my inventory was not full.

While I wouldn't like to see her go back to Zion, it wouldn't be right to keep her from doing that, if that's what she wanted.

They just need to come up with a plausible storyline, to tie everything together.

I want Neurophyte back as her machine-driven form, at least on Recursion.  She was so much cooler that way, and we had quite a relationship :robotwink:
#11500000067 08/16/2005 22:38:57 Re: Neurophyte
I'm thinking, knowing SOE's usual pattern, they will either:

  1. Put it to a vote

  2. Make a new Story Arch where her fate was decided again

  3. Pull a Tank (Wipe her from the face of the Earth, like was done to Tank in the Revolutions)

  4. Reset the storyline

I doubt the Matrix Makers will let them reset the storyline however...

Time will tell.

#11500000070 08/17/2005 00:13:56 Re: Neurophyte
In the end game notes on the worlds where she was killed for the kill code (machine), memory modules were mentioned. Perhaps she would return as a reconstructed RSI.

Zion might also reconstruct her RSI from those modules.

Any thoughts?

That's
an interesting, if not a little hopeful, thought. Zion, the
Merovingian, and the Machines would all want Neurophyte, as on at least
one of each server they all got her (Except maybe the merovingian I
think)and restored her and on others they killed her to obtain the
killcode. So SOE is faced with the problem of: first, do we keep her
alive, or keep her dead. And once that problem is sorted, they have to
think, who do we give them to? And for what reason can we justify it.

So more likely than not, they will probably have her killed, it is
seeming more and more apparant, even though the storyline was much more
interesting with her in it.

But still remember, there are still 3 worlds, which will have 3 different outcomes and seperate storylines, hopefully.

I miss her.

*tears up just a little*

Why was Neurophyte's RSI changed on method? She used to have longer blonde hair but during the last event it was short black hair? I have been trying to find some information on it but I never have SMILEY

I believe it's simply her "machinist" look.
#11500000105 08/17/2005 08:59:48 Re: Neurophyte

My theory is that her "machinist" look has something to do with the manner in which she was saved.  According to what she told us during the event, the killcode she carried somehow bonded to her during the recovery process.  Not only did it enhance her, but it also altered her consciousness in some manner.

I don't want to speculate too much, but we all know who had the short black hair and is no longer with us.

But it could be just over-analyzation on my part.  It might just be her "machinist look", as Romav stated.

But she was saved on Iterator, with the killcode bonded, and kept her old look. Only, she was saved by Zion.

The thing is, if the machines saved her and had her live in the machine city, being retaught everything and retrained, then she's going to think like a machinist would. Thus, her RSI would change because she thinks of everything, including herself, differently.

Your RSI is only what you make of it.

But going back to the beginning of this thread, I too am wondering what Neurophyte is going to be like on the merged servers, or if she's going to be in the story at all anymore. On Iterator, she used the killcode on the red eyed Agents until they created a counter-measure tool against the killcode, thus making it completely useless. She also wasn't in the Novalis II event at all, which makes me wonder if she's a scrapped character now.
#11500000245 08/29/2005 16:14:36 Re: Neurophyte
PigeonKing, I think it was Walrus who stated "Neurophyte has not been
forgotten" or something along those lines. It was either him or Brenlo
I think. Either way, we know she will at least have a mention again in
the future.

#11500000250 08/30/2005 06:22:27 Re: Neurophyte
Well, perhaps in a future Live Event, if there is one, we'll have to again decide Neurophyte's fate. Or she'll die. Either way.
