Mx0 ·· "useropts.cfg" - radius of the 'high quality' textures

I have a lil question, I hope someone can help me quickly. I want change the radius of the switch from the sharp 'high quality' sceneny textures to these lower quality textures. The switch from these best quality textures to the low unsharp textures happens to early, in my eyes. I want set this radius to a distance where a human eye can't see the difference of this texture quality switch. I did some settings which I found in this forum, but this one setting doesn't work for me, or I do something wrong and this setting has an influence or connection to other settings, which I didn't set yet.

bye

Mx0 ·· no luck

Hi phi, hi all!

I tested it and lot of other settings too, but nothing seems to work. I am really sad after so many weeks. Bayamos left me too, noone can help. Slowly I am depressed and realized that won't jack in, because this graphic. Is noone here who could ask a dev. I am sure when I ask, they will say, these "useropts" were not supported from mxo help team and noone said I should modify them. Or can someone go to the place of the photo I made in this thread - stand at the same position and test the switch of this radius? Arzu did it with me, but we have the same result. The whole thing isn't a tragedy, but I want make good photos, with this stupid low switch its totaly uncool.

Thanks

Mx0 ·· new hope

Hi Rarebit!

Thank you so much for your answer. Before I say too much I jack in first and try your settings. Let you know, if I am happy.

Thanks

Mx0 ·· Negative Result

Hi Rarebit!

Not good, doesn't work. The distance is still the same. Arzu made some tests with different users, there, where I made my photos (page 1 of this thread) and it seems as if all ppl have this 300 units radius. Also I can imagine that noone understood what I really want. I assume when Bayamos says his faraway textures were in 'high' details, is the reason not because he has other settings, the reason is that these 'low' quality textures look in far distance very good. The 'low' quality textures are a copy of the 'high' quality version, they are only compressed and smaller in file size, from faraway they look perfect. I had not a problem with the faraway textures, my problem were this short distances - when I stand at the HL in 'Tabor Park C' look at a house which is 300 units away from me, make two steps back and it changes to 'low' quality texture, that is what I want, this is what I find should switch later, maybee in 2'000 units distance. So I hope now we come slowly to an end, hehe. If this setting is not possible, "fine", I must only know it. The other thing is, Arzu says this distance were bigger in the past, she says she would be 100% sure it was not at 300 units. Dear Devs, can that be that something was modified, to make the texture loading faster or was accidently changed. That can't be right, that these textures switch so quick to 'low', when I am only a lil bit far away from a house, my card could handle a bigger distance.

Rarebit, Bayamos or other "useropts" heros come back and we fix that stupid thing and bring it to an end. The best is, someone who want help, make this test from my photos "page 1", go to "Tabor Park Central" stand at the same position (coordinates are on this photo) and look at the quality of the windows from the house in front of you, then make slowly steps back or forward, till the textures change - if they change?. Help us please, lovely boys.

Thank you so much, if you find time to help.

Mx0 ·· "Aha! The Next"

Hi shauntaylor88!

Oh, thank you so much for helping, very lovely. Yes, now I begin to believe, that this could be what I said earlier in this thread - I had the feeling, that maybee different scenery objects their own view settings (low/high radius switch) have. I asked this question to Bayamos twice, but he gave me no answer, what he thinks about it. The other possibility is, its an admin setting and we can't do anything. A third possibility, which were really not nice, that the statement when you put "useropts.cfg" out of your app folder that everything turns back to original, not correct is, and all users, who did a special setting have now a changed "autoexec.cfg" or "options.cfg" (the other "*.cfg" files). Auahhh, Arzu stands behind me and screams in my ear, the radius were bigger two months ago. I must say I haven't such good eyes like her, but she had mostly right, when its something about visual things. It seems very strange the whole thing, we heard from some ppl the same, that this texture switch were really not more at the same distance. I said nothing earlier, cause I thought it were because I play with the 'useropts' and haven't the optimal balance yet.

Okay lovely boys, I hope we can go a step forward. Tell me what you think, everything is important.

Thanks

Mx0 ·· "at least we know where we stand now"

Hi Rarebit!

That were absolutely great, thank you so much for your whole help. Now I feel me much better, cause I know what the problem is. The next part is in your hands and when you are successfull and you come back with wonderful news, means, we will have the possibility to change this setting and a new time begins, a MXO time with an ultra-super high quality graphic, then... Then I am lil little bit proud, it was a  woman  who gave the impuls for a new graphic decade in this fantastic simulation. I think the whole time about the fantastic photos and videos we could make with this new visual setting. I wish you good luck and send you a big kiss.

"Go Rarebit, bring us the light!"

Thanks
