Very interesting thread, Shadow. Here's my outlook.
The matrix has also become the home for exiles. Like Shadow said, it is a bridge between our cultures. (very nice analogy, too, Shadow.)
Great thread, in fact this was origianlly on the Vector folder: http://mxoboards.station.sony.com/matrix/board/message?board.id=NR_Vector&message.id=883
Great reading!
...but we wanted to expand it out to all the servers. Please add to the questionaire the server you are on, I'm curious as to the philosophies of Recursionites and Syntaxians

(#2b) Secondary Affilation: N/A
Affiliation: Machines
Secondary Affilation: Leader of Likwid Hyuzu; Liason for Skynet Security Systems.
Political Preference: I have not political background or tie's, if you were to label me my motions would be considered Radical. Changes are needed.
Belief in Neo:
Neo, he was the tri-fector possesing the powers that define us all. Neo
clearly showed the quality of all 3 Org's. His love for humanity and
its freedom, His bond with the Machines and understood their purpose,
and His ability to bend the laws of the system and program it to the
way he saw fit.
On The Question of Freeing Minds:
I believe in those that come to the crossroads and discover there is a
world beyond the world they see should be free. I believe that
moderation is needed, if we free to many minds the stability of The
Matrix can be destroyed causing the deaths of millions. The real is not
a world we could successfully live in, it will take time before we
would be able to rehabit the surfaces full-time. Till then i believe in
protecting The Matrix until that time comes, preserving life along the
line that does not need to be destroyed.
On the Matrix: The Matrix is the future and a reality we must accept and protect.
Affiliation: Machine
Political Preference: Liberal
Belief in Neo: He was a great man who lived his life and died for peace. It is up to us to sustain that peace.
On The Question of Freeing Minds: All too often the truth is
sugercoated by Zionites or EPN and coupled with the curiosity of
bluepills many take the redpill and lose their entire lives. Everything
that they had is gone.
On the Matrix: The Matrix is a beautiful thing. We destroyed the
real world and the Machines recreated it for us. It is the very essence
of the peace Neo died for. If we all return to this simulation, we
could end war forever.
On the Real: It's a war-torn wasteland plain and simple. Restoring it would take time and effort we don't have. Even if the skies were cleared and it returned to it's former glory, I seriously doubt Zion and 01 could co-exist forever and never break back into war.

Affiliation: Merovingian
Secondary Affiliation: Master of Ookami Batsu
Political Preference: Machiavellian/Pseudo-Conservative
Belief in Neo: Humanity's 'One' accomplished some pretty amazing things, and his efforts ended up being for essentially nil due to humanity's never-ending weakness and political incompetence. He may have been able to fly and bend the reality and structure of the Construct, but, in the end, did it really accomplish anything of import?
On the Question of Freeing Minds: Does it really matter? Blues are really just fodder; the Red Pill simply makes them food with claws.
On the Matrix: That Matrix is the future, and it is a deadly, gorgeous thing. It is the only reality worth indulging and living.
On the Real: Irrelevant. Vanil cannot return to the Real, and it means nothing. Besides, things are 'so' much better here...

Secondary Affiliation: Exile
Political Preference: Nihilist
Belief in Neo: The One is a necessary part in the current System. Neo served his role as any human or machine could hope to serve theirs. His purpose finished, his time is simply over. Anything that remains past its time would be classified as an Exile. There is some sympathy with such a condition befalling a human host... But not much.
On the Question of Freeing Minds: Those who wish to be freed should be freed. Those who wish to become something more should be allowed to alter themselves to fit their beliefs. It is the burden of the System not to curtail the expression of desire, but rather the desire itself. If human beings have no desire to be freed, they will not seek it. The flaw with the Matrix is that such a desire seems unable to be quashed, at least while humanity, in its immaculate imperfection, continues to exist.
On the Matrix: The Matrix is the closest thing to perfection. But it is not in itself perfect. This is because there still exists the flaw of free will, prevalent among those of human distinction. A truly perfect system is one in which nothing goes wrong, nor has the possibility to go wrong. In short, a perfect system does not exist.
On the Real: Irrelevant, beyond the fact that the Real must be altered in the same fashion as the Matrix for a perfect system to be upheld.

Political Preference: Hostile (unsure how that works?)
Belief in Neo: If he really had such power why didnt he take control himself, I guess he was just a guy in the right place at the right time.
On The Question of Freeing Minds: They are better off and more use to us where they are.
On the Matrix: The Matrix is a world of oppertunity we redpills can shape in our own image....imagination is our only limitation.
On the real: Our existence there is a small price for the almost limitless potential we have inside, however there must be some way to overcome the limitations it places on our longevity.
Belief in Neo: He was special but not "God" in any sense of the word. He is as special to Redpills as Redpills would be to Bluepills
On Freeing Minds: Stick to the truce. Those that want out of the pods, they get out. Those that choose the Matrix, get plugged in.
On the Matrix: It allows humans to be cared for. It was proven that we can't take care of ourselves. Even with what should be a unifiying goal of freedom from the Matrix, what every Zionist wants, there is infighting and treachery and death.

Belief in Neo: The truce was simply a stalemate, to quote an unknown, a "Cold War". Neo chose Trinity out of Love, and didn't know what to do next. When Smith copied himself, mimicing a virus, Neo seized this opportunity to end the war, fulfilling his BRAND as "The One", though not by the obvious chocie of rebuilding Zion, for a Matrix revision.
On The Question Of Freeing Minds: At first a solid supporter, but after Zion's propaganda wore off, when I started to miss everything I once knew, I thought of how the pil was forced onto me, and wouldn't curse an enemy with the same fate. Stop ruining these people's existences.
On The Matrix: Truly a marvel of logical genius, and understandably hard to accept. While the modus operandi is an enslaving and sinister one, nonetheless, compared to the knowledge of what truly is I would have chosen to stay plugged in, and live my once envyed life.
Handle: Nathics
Affiliation: Zion
-Secondary Affilation: Myself
Political Preference: Radicalist
Belief in Neo: A man with no strings to guide him past paths he wished to take. We all retain what was gifted to him, if we beleive.
On The Question of Freeing Minds: Those who wish to hold light upon the images they receive, should not be hindered. It is a great tragedy when one cannot walk even the most basic of paths.
On the Matrix: A suffisticated mobile phone, a burden as such. To focus our pools of vision and paths in the direction of a farce renderes us blind to the future. The matrix would gain us no favour if we replenished the earth with what we keep warm in our minds.
