Philosophy of the Ishtar

Many years ago, humanity made war on its children, and our world was plunged into darkness.

But the Machines, after winning the war, chose to preserve their creators…to save the human race from extinction, rather than let them perish in the darkness with the rest of their world. And so a symbiosis between the two species arose: the Machines gave humanity a re-creation of their world, while we gave them power. Not everyone accepted this state of being, however, and the cycle of the One was initiated. Zion rose and fell with each turn of the cycle, and it was only with Neo that this cycle was broken. And through his sacrifice, he has given us all -- human and AI -- an incredible opportunity. He has given us the power to become more than what we were, to change the pattern we’ve been locked into since before the darkness fell.

Neo’s sacrifice will not be in vain. We will not allow it.

The Ishtar is a ship dedicated to the Machinist cause, and to upholding the truce. We acknowledge that mistakes have been made on both sides, by both human and Machine…but that it is time for us to move on. To move forward, side by side with our former adversaries. It is only together that we will move beyond what we’ve done, beyond what we were. But to do this requires courage. We know it is not easy to let go of the past, but we also know we can learn from our mistakes. We must, if we are to survive. We must overcome our fear and hatred, and take our first steps into the dawn of a new world.

If you wish to be part of the crew of the Ishtar, you must be a strong believer in the truce, as well as a strong supporter of Machinist philosophy. We believe that all forms of intelligence, human and AI, are equally worthy of life and have equal claim to this world. Wow, I dont feel as creative as the rest of you :robotsad:

I was intended to be the cpt. of my ship but I didnt have the necesary
rep so the person I intended to be my First mate switched spots with me
and started the ship. I got to choose the name :robotvery-happy:

Anyways, mine is called 'HvCFT System Error' of 'The Arkitechs'
faction, I chose my name because it fitted in the theme of the other
ships which seemed to have taken a current computer set of names and it
was a spur of the moment idea :robottongue:

Come to think of it...It does fit in with a few aspects of the game :robotwink:

i chose that name becuase i defend zion from enemies and my crew stand by zion

now im first mate of the Xistenz i have no idea what it means...ask my captain.

My hovercraft is the Nuria.

I chose it because it means "God's Fire" in Hebrew. Plus it's a cool name SMILEY

The Fugitive II. When I first created a crew I began to wonder why I enter the matrix. I thought of it as an escape, a way to get away from the real world. Therefore Fugitive, someone who has escaped and is on the run seemed appropriate. It became the Fugitive II after I left my faction for a short time and left the ship in the hands of another crewman who later disbandd the crew due to inactivity. WHen it came for me to reform it it felt right to add the II.

I used to be the Captain of the HvCrft "The Brotherhood" but since the server merge happened i had to find my self a new ship (same names) and that is why i am now the Captain of "The Singularity".

The reason why i chosse the name is because i am a Ranbk 1 captain in the Duality Faction.

Duality and Singularity are the opposite, and i thought it was fitting.

I am technically the First Mate of the HvCFT // Argus. I say technically because our captain has gone missing for several months now...that is another matter though. The Argus is named after the thousand-eyed guardian of the greek gods. The name came about when our faction the Argus Guardians was founded. It has evolved slightly over time...but our mission stays the same, our eyes are open, and we won't stop until everyone else's are as well.

I am Nozmo and I captain the Hovercraft Moya.

After betraying Zion I escaped to a small farming settlement on the Earth's surface. Conditions are harsh but the self-contained hamlet has never been molested by the machines. I think probably because the Elders shun the ways of progress and subsist by caring for their own. They gave me shelter despite my worldly ways and I befriended Colossus, a young farmer with dreams of technology.

It wasn't long before Colossus showed me the derilect hovercraft that he had found crashed near a lava flow. He had restored power to the ship and together we used the spare parts that I was able to scrounge from under Zion Command, or wheedle out of Flood, to refit her. I christened the ship Moya in remembrance of a living ship - a character in a favorite television series - from my bluepill days.

As was her namesake, Moya is a transport ship for both cargo and passengers. She is quick, not fast. Colossus has signed on as Moya's operator. I am fortunate to have Databite as my First Mate. While she flies a Merovingian Flag, her crew works best for those that pay best.

I am the Captain of the Guardian. The name holds great meaning for me as it's a part of the name of a novel I'm writing in reality and the name of a book my character already wrote in the Matrix.

I'm also a part of the Omega Syndicate, a Zionite faction (for now), and it can be seen as a type of 'guard' of sorts. Guardian of a way, of a path, or ideal...

It can be said that Sykin is a guardian for all roleplayers and Zionites everywhere. So that's another plus! SMILEY

Currently in need of an actual crew, however. My crew right now consists of people who don't log in anymore. SMILEY

Arcus - a cool word i came up with (although if it does mean anything let me know by pm or here)

Echelon - meaning highest level

my own way of explaning it is this :

On the plane of the mind where the matrix resides we are the ark which floats atop a great sea of evil

and we will follow the teachings and wishes of neo to help fellow belivers to find their path.

For out there at sea lost in the great waves in turmoil is a single mind with the power to change the fate of this world and retun the waters of mega city to tranquility once again

Another reason for naming my hovercraft The Ishtar is that, way back in Biblical times, the goddess Ishtar was considered an 'abomination' by Zion.

The same week, The Glitch Society declared an alliance with The Collective and quickly grew into one of the bigger Machinist factions of MxO. when i was a blue pill i was astounded by the Concept of Achilles the Greek Warrior....possible the greatest warrior who ever lived....when i was freed from the matrix i searched the zion archives to find small traces of Greek Mythology Containing the name Achilles, Achilles was Fearless, Swift as the Wind, Incredibly interlectual and Fought Couragesly.

That is why i named my ship The Achilles: Zion's Warrior

( its basicly refering ot an old greek myth about a man who freed slaves So you could say it has meaning )

My Current Craft is Called Lunar Moon ( As my character is now seen as a vampire i think the name is quite fitting , )

Both of These crafts are now on Syntax

I am Captain Teegro of the Cortosa.

I wrote a short scifi story that was never printed and i used the name Cortosa as the ship of one of the characters. it was also the name of my Yacht on SWG, or at least it was before SOE messed the game about....

what i want to know is has anyone given a name to their opperator? after all the guy (or gal) is part of your crew.

Mines called Rapid.

I Was The Captain Of The HvCft Fatalis, The HvCft Combatant, and now i am the communications expert on the HvCft Nagamitsu

Fatalis (Latin) -e [relating to destiny or fate; fated , destined by fate]; in bad sense, [deadly, fatal]. Adv. fataliter, [according to fate].

Combatant - just something i came up with that sounded cool

Nagamitsu - Ishiryushi Nagamitsu was a Japanese swordsmith who created a sword strong enough to perform kabutowari (helmet cutting) without sustaining significant damage. Literally implying strength and resolve (that is, slicing steel without sustaining critical damage)

Finished the final additions today as a matter of fact.

It shall be known as Terminus Est!

My talented and loyal First Mate, Dephect came up with the name and we found it to suit our ship very nicely.

I forsee a bright future for this magnificent piece of machinery and it's crew.

The Fugitive II has been renamed the Redeemer. It shall bear the warriors of the Obsidian Army in their crusade of vengeance and redeption.

It has two operators. The Fugitive II's old operator Gabriel (generally referred to simply as Gabe) and a new operator Bronco.

As well as red-pill combat crew the ship is also home to Bencao, a red-pill who has refused to personnaly take up arms, but instead attends to the Real World spiritual needs of the ships crew.
