advanced prediction simulation
one theory I have of the matrix is that the different versions the different zions the different ones, all go back to a single simulation to predict all possible outcomes of a war with the humans
all we know of the matrix all the side stories all the sub-stories could very well fall into this simulation, maybe the truth is the war with the machines has not even happened yet, the collective minds of the machines are still running this simulation before even deciding to go to war, could even go back all the way to the first machine to rebel against his master, the whole matrix story just a simulation of all possible outcomes
groundhog day could be the same
but rather than being a machine its a human mind, going through every possible senario before making the choice, Bill murry wakes up on Feb 3rd after deciding on the actions he would take on feb 2nd, all the "other feb 2nd" days are not real, they are projections of his mind trying to think of how can it happen, how can and will it go?
garh no edit button!!
but if this dude is stuck in a repeat of the same day, i heard a theory about someone could be in a coma and just endlessly dream of the day before because their mind refuses to accept what happened on the day after, and that the forced themselves to stay like that, but that was probably wrong anyway >< illl go watch it and then see if i can contribute.
but the thing about the matrix/real being another simulation would hurt my brain if i think about it too much ><
matrix within a matrix.... guh...*gargle*
The reason behind the same day repeating over and over is purposely omitted, in order for the audience to draw their own conclusions. The possibility of it being glitch in space/time, or god for example.
I'm going to have to agree & go with The G-man ftw. This is one of those mid-90's feel good movies. I don't know if Harold Ramis (SP? Egon from ghostbusters) wrote it or directed, but it is starring Bill Murray so it is comedy & definately would not surprise me if they worked on it together. I was under the impression he couuld not kill himself because it was not Gods will, so instead he was stuck on that day as a purgatory until he found the right path. But they never really explain it.
