I think there were only 3 agents in the films. There was Agent Smith, Agent Johnson and who was the other one? I think he was the one who fought Morpheus on top of a lorry. There are loads of agents now in-game I guess its because there are more redpills since the truce and the machines need more security. But where is Agent Johnson and that other one now? I thought maybe Agent Johnson died because Smith took over him but that happened to other agents like Agent Gray and they survived although they now act strange.

from the matrix:

agent smith
agent brown
agent jones

from the matrix reloaded (and revolutions):

agent johnson
agent jackson
agent thompson

like neo says at the start of reloaded "hmmm, upgrades." cleverly, the three later agents all use the surname convention "-son" to indicate that they're later versions.

someone once compiled a huge list of all the agents around in mxo but to answer yr question presumably all agents appearing in mxo have been upgraded to the latest model, apart from agent gray, who never got to go back to the source, poor guy.

I hated the fact that The Matrix films only showed 3 agents at a time.

I didn't know Agent Thorne.  I was a filthy cave monkey at the time, and all the agents looked alike to me.  SMILEY

Most of the Agents I think that are around recruiting people are those that were taken by Smith since they dont fight much now.

Now that alot of Agents!!!

#11200003426 02/22/2006 01:46:30 Re: The Third Agent
well i would not be surprised if only three agents existed before we were all unplugged....its all mathematical with machines.....three was the perfect number of agents to have back then. They were able to fight3 or 4 people at one time...so three was good because they could never be surrounded. ( I believe they also represent cuberus, the gatekeeper dog on the river stix in the bible )

interesting link to cerberus (who guarded the gate to hades in greek mythology, not in the bible, as far as i recall) although the number three has all sorts of significance within the bible.

True. Cerberus is also mentioned in Roman mythology.

It's most likely a coincidence. There isn't sufficient cases to assume that the number three had specifically been selected to represent something other than the Agents themselves. From two cases ? If there was more like a dozen, perhaps, but with two cases, it could very well easily be a simple coincidence.

And to clarify, the river Styx is not at all referred to in the Bible. It's a strictly Roman-Greek myth.

There were four Agents in Reloaded.  What? You forget about teh uber 1337 Jones?!? Shame on youse! How can you call yourselves Matrix fans?

Viva Agente Jones!

Agent Jones was not in Reloaded, just the first movie.  Check imdb.  SMILEY

<Woman walks by Burly Brawl, stops and stares in horror.  Agent Jones quickly takes over her body and begins to investigate when he is rudely interrupted by Smith.>

<Jones> You.

<Smith> Yes, me-- *snakes hand into Jones and begins copying him over* Me, me, me.

<Smith/Jones> *finishes copy* Me, too.

<Both Smiths glance over at the battle and rejoin.>

UBER ELITE PWNED!!!!!!!!!!!! Uhhh! Take that, you...digitizal...person.

#11200003685 03/27/2006 19:50:08 Re: The Third Agent
I'm very familiar with that scene, it just wasn't Agent Jones.    I can see how you might make that mistake though, what with the dark glasses and all.  :smileytongue:   The Agent you're referring to was Agent Thompson.
But don't take my word for it, feel free to click here and read the first "memorable quote":
Not only is that not Agent Jones, but nowhere in the credits at the end of the movie is there an Agent Jones (feel free to watch yourself if you don't believe me).  Heck, I'll save you the trouble; click here for the full list:
You must realize the truth... there is no Agent Jones.  Then you will see that it is not digitize that is ""uber elite pwned", only yourself.  :smileyvery-happy:
#11200003692 03/28/2006 16:15:43 Re: The Third Agent

Okay, that is not a legitimate Matrix site.

And lots of people aren't included in the credits.

#11200003693 03/28/2006 17:13:32 Re: The Third Agent
No, its not a Matrix site, its IMDB... the "internet movie database" which is a very reliable source of info on pretty much every movie; in this case, the "full cast and crew" listing seems to match the credits in the movie.  Can you provide a link to any "official" Matrix site which refers to Agent Jones as being in Reloaded?  I didn't think so.  However, you CAN get an official cast and crew list at www.whatisthematrix.com
So as I said before, watch the movie credits yourself, you'll see there is NO Agent Jones in Reloaded.  Unless of course you think that Warner Brothers decided not to give any credit to the actor, in which case, you're a lost cause.

I think I know the difference between Jones and Th......*a sound of something clicking into place*

You know what? Leave me alone.

**froop** MEMORIES!  That's it, I'm going to watch Reloaded and Matrix over and over and memorize their faces, maybe get a screenshot or two and SHOW YOU ALL!!!

VIVA AGENTE JONES!!!!!!!!!

Agent Brown in The Matrix was played by the same guy who played Stark
in Farscape.  Sorry...  I'm a Farscape geek.  Couldn't
help but add the useless trivia.  I'll go back to my madness now.

The 12 year old Thomas Anderson is on one of the Architect's monitors as he is talking about Neo's life.

IMDB takes its credit listings directly from the movie.
