Mechanical insects? Why?

  I can't remember where I heard it (possibly one of the Revisited DVDs or some other Matrix special ... I know it was a visual special, though I believe I read it somewhere as well), but supposed the Wachowskis feel that the insect form is the best form that nature has ever produced (or something to that effect).

  After seeing the Machines, the Assassin (which is supposed the Wachowskis' idea), and the Insectoids in PoN, I have a feeling that they like bugs. ^_~
