well, the agents get upgraded all the time. So thats why you dont see the agents from Matrix 1 in Reloaded. Because who wants agents that run away from Neo. I know I wouldnt. I think they got deleted, when upgraded by some other agents. along with others. If you go downtown or somewhere, and agents spawn, they have names so there are more agents.
Gray was in the matrix at the time of the smith virus, and he got copied over. along with other agents that tried to stand up to smith. I dont think the machines would send more agents in, because all it would do is feed Smith with more copies.
So there are still alot of agents around, but the main 3 agents are Gray, Skinner (replaced by), Pace, and Davis. Those are the head agents that are in charge of all the other agents.
here is a list of all the agents but not all of them, as they dont have Agent Davis, or that Agent Toole. So this isnt a complete list but a list of some agents seen in the matrix.
