Assassination - Event Summary - 430m Info was won.

Well that was it, the first large scale event from Fallen Horizon
(Well since I've been there ^_^ )

A lot of planning went into this event and was scheduled to last over 3 days. After being intially put back a week due to the Blue Sky event, it went ahead as planned the following week.

Leading upto the event Start

Before the actual days started, forums were used to promte the event (both player run and Dn1) and start the initial procedure.

As many of you will have seen this post was made and we had Dame White interacting updating players on what was needed.

This was leading upto Day 1
As required people were meant to send a email to the contact, the clues were in the post header itself. Once you decoded it, you were aware that Castilia was the contact.

Her location again was a secret, but clues were given.

Day 1

The clues lead you to Midan Park itself, this is where the contact was at that very time. Operatives made there way to meet the contact, as part of the RP Fallen Horizon were monitoring the location.

Here people spoke to Castilia who gave them information about the codes and Fallen Horizon, they were told that a spy in Fallen Horizon would give them the information they needed, but to first get clues of where to meet the spy they had to bring her eighteen code bit 5's and thirteen code bits 7's. MAny operatives did this and were given the clue..

The spy will make himself available 24 hours from now. This person will provide information to those that are competent of finding him and prove themselves capable of doing what must be done. He says 'To know what I know, you must first seek absolution. It is in forgiveness of each other that sister and brother will learn to assemble in peace. I hide behind sister until you bring me mine.'

The clues lead you to Sister Margaret at Mara C chruch. However to add more mystery they were told..

Yes that is confusing, but fear not, you have already been given the co-ordiantes. Either way, good luck in finding him.

Day 2

On the 2nd Day, operatives who worked out the clue and location meet with Redimere at Mara C chruch who told them the following...

Welcome operatives. Your contact told you of my search for salvation I trust. On my sleeve I seek to show devotion to my newfound spirituality. However, everything comes at a price and even a man of God will charge one as I. I need to know where to find him and I must know what he demands in trade. If one of you can tell me what the Padre wishes from me then I will give over the information that you seek. Afterwards we may depart upon our separate tasks: you continuing on your quest for the return of another’s rightful property and I in search of proof that I take a higher path in this world.

As I’m sure you’ve all heard by now Fallen Horizon is responsible for the theft of Dame White’s codes. Spite is a petty excuse for any action. And its emotional component often leads to poor choices. I cannot stand idly by while this impious act perpetuates, just the knowledge of it burdens my soul. Which is why I stand here before you. Someone must end this and I cannot afford to expose myself at this time.
So… “Bring me this. Bring me that. I seek whatever.” I can imagine that you feel like servants jumping at the every whim of your master. Well I can’t tell you anything that will alleviate that feeling. In fact it only gets worse from here. Now you’re rats in a maze chasing the same block of cheese. So, only one of you will be fed. You may have helped one another get to this point, but such aid to others may no longer be advisable. Remember, only the first to finish in this race will garner a prize of any kind.

The thief is in transit to a meeting but his escort is delayed. At this time his name is hidden and that is his only protection. But I will strip away his anonymity, to a degree. I cannot simply give his name to you. Fallen Horizon is actively scanning the Matrix and any mention of his name is likely to cause an alert. So I will use a simple method to encode it.

Now, if you hurry you will catch him off-guard. If you dally and allow his guardians to surround him you will find him to be a difficult target at best. The codes were hidden in a place where only those loyal to Zion could search. He is now returning from there and making his way on foot due south to the Zalmon Casino in the Eshean Projects. He will not take the open roads. He will travel the alleys and back ways to limit his exposure. He also will not give the codes up without the persuasion of a one-on-one ‘conversation’. He will accept if you challenge him, he is young and brash and new to the Matrix. I urge you though to take your ‘conversation’ somewhere others cannot see when you do find him. Attacking a member of Fallen Horizon out in the open will likely present complications.

His name is 0100011001110101011100100111010001101001011101100111010101110011 and remember he carries the Fallen Horizon tag. He’s re-entering the Matrix as we speak. I must not be here when he does, my complicity in this matter could be detected.

Those who worked it out then found the person they were looking for, Furtivus in front of the Azimuth monument at Moriah East. Symmetric from McDoE was first to find the individual, and thus kill him, many followed on from this. The order of those attacking this operative determined the order in which assassinations would be attempted on Day 3.

The twist to the story? Well after attacking the operative they were told..

You’ve been tricked. I am the spy, not Redimere. Fallen Horizon intercepted my communiqués with the Dame and Castilia. The entire faction has been feeding them and you wrong information. They’ve organized this wild goose chase you’ve been on.

Then they were told what to do next.

They earned the right to fight for the prize money and to get the codes back for Dame White.

We wanted to promote heavily that only those who made it this far and interacted could take part in the Finale, we wanted to reward only those who took their time to solve the riddles/puzzles set up until that point.

Day 3 - The Finale

Now the first "Day 3" started with several teams turning up, Zion was tasked with hacking the Access Terminal while Merv/MAchine operatives tried to get the kill. The first plan was first to get the kill or hack the PC won the prize. However after several errors on rules and fairness, this stage was abandoned and re-scheduled the following week. However both Zion and Machine operatives technically won a aspect and were compensated for their efforts on the day. It was then planned for the following Sunday.

The Finale begins... not all teams that earned the right turned up, however Zion operatives were as told at Tabor North to begin there task while Machine/Merv opertaives were at Vauxton East to attempt the kill. Each team would be timed and fastest time would win, for either task.

Thus the event took place. While Machine/Merv operatives tried to kill me, Zion operatives were sent on a hunt for first Nicks and then to find TxTurbo.

It was a great time had be many and after the dust settled the Finale was over and the winners were...
