My lack of time to play continues to bite me I never did get a chance to finish the spray gun criticals. I guess they are gone as this morning the new critical wanted to me to drag three commandos off somewhere and get them killed. Didn't complete the mission as:

a) I was in International, a long way from any mobs who would be able to do damage to level 30s or even engage them.

b) Isn't Zion supposed to be the good guys? But our idea of responsible politics is to lead people we know nothing about into ambushes? Putting the best face on it, I guess we're supposed to assume that they are redpills and will revive, so that our actions are merely distasteful rather than duplicitiuous and murderous.

I love Niobe as much as anyone and maybe more than most, but if I wanted to screw strangers just on principle, I'd have joined a different faction.
Thoughts? Opinions? Fire bombings of my hovercraft?

Two mornings in a row in the Matrix.  Go me!  :smileyhappy:

Still haven't finished the first crit.  Someone pointed out that it is less a chance to commit murder than an opportunity to farm frags.  And so it is.  Very handy walking into the mobs and having them outnumbered for a change.

That said, I'm glad to have my reality confirmed that this is not how we want Zion to be doing business.

Sigh.  Where is Morph when you need him?

so... though it wasn't necessarily a specific order from Zion, and though it was the digital representation of the act within the matrix, performed on a program (that was still a sentient being), versus the act on a human sentient in the Outer World, i none the less ripped open the ribcage of a woman i'd just killed to pull out her heart and threaten a man who had information i desired, in the service of Zion.

Can't remember if I did that one or not, but I do remember a local mission (?) where you go and get the exile's wife, then threaten to harm her if he doesn't talk. I can see that if you're taking freelance missions outside the your duty to Zion, you have only yourself to blame if your hands get dirty, but I don't want to see an exile mind set taking over in Zion command.

[[I was talking about the city of villains beta with a friend who expressed surprise that anyone would want to play villains. I assured him that in 3 months in CoV, I never did anything as villainous as some things I've done on dev created missions in the matrix.]]
