The Revenant was founded in beta, but didn't hit it's stride until the game went live. Since then, The Revenant has been at the forefront of The Matrix Online. Due to game-related troubles, the faction was shut down in January 2006 and the distinguished members went their seperate ways. Some left the game, some joined other factions, and some made new factions. Yet the spirit of the faction could never die - as its very name implies. And so, fulfilling the destiny our name implies, The Revenant is back - reborn and seeking redemption.
I was the leader of the original faction. When the faction was shut down, my good friend, and Revenant council member, GQubed formed his own great faction named Exodus. Now the both of us are joining forces once again to breathe life into the reborn faction as equal leaders with backing by a council of game vets Steege and Deakkon.
Story-wise:
The members of the newly reformed Revenant realize that things are very wrong in this world, however we also realize that starting a war and creating more conflict is doing nothing to help. Our mission has expanded to become the protection of both freedom and the livelihood of humanity by respecting the truce Neo established and seeking to strengthen it and improve life in this world in any way possible. However, those that abuse their power and standing will not be tolerated and we will not hesitate to act on such abuses.
Game-wise:
We would be best described as an RP/PVP faction with strong emphasis on continuing the storyline while remaining faithful to the source material. We are all avid fans of the Matrix movies after all. We regularly participate in Live Events and Player Run Events, and create Player Run events of our own. We even enjoy dropping in for some fun PVP. We are all here to expand the amount of fun our players and those that interact with us have.
Ties:
Being such an old and successful faction, we have ties and good friends in several other factions from all organizations. Currently in planning is something which will enable us to use these ties to improve gameplay for everyone involved (more information to come).
Track Record
Live Events:
Played an integral role in every live event that has taken place (Not counting the "Blue Sky" mini-event). The Revenant came in first place in the live event "Double Cross" by tracking down the killer of our friend Vashuo.
Player Run Events:
We have participated in many Player Run RP events including the very first large scale RP event - the "Matrixulated" event ran by good friends the Prophets of Peace.
We have also created and ran several events ourselves including the first RP event post-server merge - the "Outbreak" event, also known as the "Codestreamerror553" event. Other events we've run include "The Path Not Taken" and "Out of Sight."
If you are a mature Matrix fan who would like to join others trying to get more fun out of the game I urge you to check us out. If you are the leader of a faction without many active members feel free to contact any of us as we would love to have you, and established faction leaders will be granted higher status as they have earned it.
We've moved on from our labeled-as-terrorists past and instead are concentrating on what can be done now to make things better. We hope you'll join us in the fight for the future.
