Hello everyone,

I am a free trial player (/cheer) and I was just wondering if someone could give me a quick rundown of what the kinds of factions are and how they affect play. I've seen words like Merovingian and Cypher and I have a vague idea of what's up, but I can't seem to find a faq that explains this.

The reason I'm asking is just so I'll know and because I'd like to join a faction while I test the game so I have some players to team with and stuff.

TIA,
Earley

No way! That's amazing.

But anyways, they follow the story of the Matrix Trilogy, maybe you
should watch those and you'll understand what Merovingian, Cypher,
Zion, EPN, and Machines are.

the E Pluribus Neo are acolytes of the Kid. they stand for the memory of Neo (and the truce?)

whereas Cryptos, a Cypherite "believing in returning to the matrix instead of staying in zion"

these are just special titles for these organizations. for roleplaying lore fun.

Do you mean specifically because within each organization  there are different factions like Roleplayers or pvpers.

in a way they are split but they still fall under the zion tag.

in roleplay terms. epn listen to the kid the others listen to niobe.. err did listen to..

Basically it works like this.

Zion - Easy mode
EPN - Easy mode, with more pvp? (even though they should be here for the RP most don't seem to be)
Mervs - Medium to hard mode (depending on time of day)
Machines - Hard mode (smallest org in the game usually just attacked by Zion, but when the mervs get bored, hehehe look out).
Cypherites - Extreme Difficulty.  As a subset of the the smallest org (machines) they are outnumbered by all, and they tend to be targeted more in pvp by Zionites and EPN members because of thier opposing view points.

So will all that said, head over to www.nobluepill.com and apply for membership in Reviled Restoration.  If you're going to experience this game to the fullest you might as well play it on Extreme Difficulty and join a Cypherite faction.
