Many Live, Lesig events happen without many players knowing when, what and how it happened. Do casual, new players have to wait to reach a high level or know the right people before they understand what is going on?
The little information a lot get is from rare cinematics, rare criticals and word to mouth. A LO can't chase every player and every faction to keep them updated. The majority don't visit the forums, I think devs should make it easier for all the casual players to at least know what is happening. Even reading the forums it is hard to get a clear picture of what is goin on.
Suggestions for the community:
Player/LO driven org weekly meeting events, not the usual secret hidden meetings no one knows about but a handful of people. I am talking about public discussions in public places, to analyze what happened on all servers and how it affects the storyline. Explaining who the characters are and their purpose, answer questions and plan for future events. For example the machinist community could meet every wed. at a certain time in tabor park or at random times using the org channel system message.
Events recap by Lesig after it is over, using the org announcement channel to rally the org.
Fewer factions make communication between players and LOs. I hate to say this but a player will have more chances to get involved by joining one large known faction.
Suggestion for the devs:
Org announcements for critical messages while an event is happening. Instead of losing the important bit in area chat, the whole organization could get a glimpse of the action and key dialog with system messages.
example:
X: I am x, I came here to kick your butt, Zion scoundrel.
X was just killed by y.
y: Nice try, y. Send my regards to the French.
Congratulations to operative z for finding the scum.
Email: Entire server or org, weekly or fortnightly email with a quick recap of events. Random server emails with character description and biography for example. Let the Lesig write such thing and the devs send them.
Report spammer function. For ex, if there are roughly 30 people in the area and 15 reported the same player, he would get an automatic area mute for 15 minutes.
