Ok first goto options.
Then goto video.
Click the advanced button.
Uncheck the box saying use configuratin presets.
Now under the world settings take each bar and move it to the far left like so.

Finally, set the effects to none. And the textures to low.
Your result will be bad graphic quality but, your lag should be reduced.
