#10400104588 04/12/2006 10:49 Official hostile/non hostile realism thread.
Since its such a heated subject which seems to take root in a lot of threads and more often then not horribly derail them i thought we should have a thread devoted to it's discussion.

My Views:

Basics:

Hostile = Most realistic

Non-hostile = more fitting/realistic in relation to the story .

explanation:

Having constant pvp is yes, more real as in reality we can randomly attack people if we want. However, the fact and setting of the story would make such a thing well... stupid. The machines have a truce, but, as we see through almost all manner of the gameplay/story they restrict what redpills are allowed to do. As such i doubt the machines would allow such mass fighting to actually happen, yes it could but the fact of the matter is it wouldn't. People would be too afraid of the machines, they have rules in place for a purpose and to be honest, if the pvp environment was to be taken as canon the truce would already be broken. Bluepills would see the never ending fighting and question the simulation to much, not to mention the general chaos it would cause in the city, the press and unnessicary attention. Not to mention that the archives have been officially explained to been opened up for exactly these purposes, if redpills have a need to fight they do it in the archives. As for /duel that's explainable as they'd be too small and far between and probably used only in the little arenas ya find around.
