You know, you kind of have a point there.  I do'nt recall any f the DEV's asking me what should happen next.  But then again we are having the choice by the org that we work for. I suppose somew people would argue the point of yes we are controlling it and some saying no we are not.  It's fine line if you really think about it.
I have seen the truth of what is, and now I explore my dreams of reality.

I was watching The Matrix Experience DVD the other day, and the preview about MxO. There, Paul Chadwick said the quote above. Then i came to realize that he has actually said this not once, but a couple of times (might be more) in different movies about MxO where some peep has interviewed him. But what he said is just a bunch of BS.

Lets just take a look at the information leak which occurred during the last event. That is a great example on how it works. The players was supposed to control the outcome of the events. But have they?

This is marketing, to get you to play, worked on me.  If you'll notice though there is nothing said as to "outcome" only timeframe and length.  This we know as bs too because events usually ended "on time" meaning when they were scheduled too.

I'm with you though, he blows smoke but the idea is nice.  One day perhaps MMOG's will be so advanced as to weigh all decisions made on a server to effect the outcome, no matter how small but, as for now, to much time, effort and most importantly money.
