Just wondering how many of us were around back on the old UBI forums...there have been so many forum changes over the years, I think we finally found some good ones.

I joined the forums about a week before the boards updated and UBI left.  SMILEY

Good times.

found out about MxO (or TMO back then SMILEY) in around april '03...just
before the first website was put up I believe....shortly after I found
my old faction called Shades and Trenchcoats at the time...had about 10
members (only 3 which actually played beta or live)and now I am the one
with the oldest join date...altho that faction died out about 3 months
ago SMILEY

I heard about MxO for the very first time when it was a little more than rumours, and it was in 2001, maybe even 2000, when they first green-lighted the project I think (but still had to start production)... then I remember the first official announcement, I think it was around E3 2002, and after Reloaded, during E3 2003 we had the first video footage, and an early site was up... I started writing on message boards in the first version of the UBI community site in 2003, the ubi site changed 3 times before it all went to Sega... yeah, I've waited a lot for this game, I dreamt about an MMO set in the Matrix when I first saw the Matrix movie in 1999, I was playing Everquest at the time and I thought that there was no better setting for a persistent world game than this, the Matrix itself IS an MMO! I kinda miss the years of waiting and dreaming, but fortunately I'm enjoying the game even though not everything meets my expectations 100%

I learned of MxO in April of 03 through some mag I read.  I joined the old Ubi forums as Bladedw23 back in oct of 2003 before revolutions.  In fact the only reason I decided to build my own computer system that I finally put together in April of 04 is because that was supposed to be the original month that MxO was supposed to go Gold.  Little did I know it wouldn't be till Nov 04 beta before I finally got to jack in.  And though I wish the game would have taken a different direction, all in all I have enjoyed the experience.  MxO was my first MMO that I basically finished by lvling out.

I watched the Matrix Rev trailer for MXO and nearly pissed my pants.. I registered with "transmissioner" on 4/20/04, but technically, I registered with "sojourner" on 4/11/04 or so.

good times.

I'm a regular (and now admin/moderator) on the website
www.thelastfreecity.com. This website used to be called... yup you
guessed it www.thematrixonline.com. WB bought the url from the old TLFC
owner for the game, heh.

Anyway, I was on the Ubisoft forums and mainly stayed in the RP section
with some people I knew. We were doing a pretty good story about our
hovercraft the Malachi x-355. In fact, we were talking about things
that later made it into the game in a different form. What now is
called Blackwood (a nightmarish realm where the Merovingian keeps
exiled programs as a collection), we were talking about, except we
called it Zemargad (from the myth surrounding Lilith). Among other
things we had helicopters and Agents jumping out of them to kill... you
guessed it, a lot of werewolves lol. There is the 2nd live event right
there.

Anyway, those days were nice because it was all dreaming. "Wow, I can't
believe we will get to be IN the Matrix and be a part of the story!"
Things may have gotten a bit off course, but I have hope that it will
be set straight.

yah, essentially, most of before-beta or not being in beta was dreaming about how the game was going to be.

I set my hopes a bit too high, but hey.. the game isnt that bad I guess, but not what I expected.
